2000+ runs & 100+ wickets in ODIs for West Indies

Only 5 West Indian all-rounders have achieved the double of 2000+ runs & 100+ wickets in ODIs.

Viv Richards Sir Viv Richards is not only among the all time great batters of world cricket across generations but was also quite handy with the ball. Richards scored 6721 runs in ODI cricket between 1975 and 1991 and also took 180 wickets at 35.83.

Below, Viv Richards discusses his first experience of playing test cricket in India.

"I remember the first time we played, we played in Bangalore, and I never forget this... just the fire crackers and everything was crazy, because here I am and I see 70,000 people in the crowd; maybe more people that on the island that I live, and that for me was huge; and as I was going out from the stairs all theses firecrackers and bombs just went off and all of a sudden I slipped and fell straight to the bottom; and I somehow didn't feel like Viv; then the brief innings that I played gave an indication of how I felt. I remember, I got out for 32 and 4 in that same match."

"I found that Chandra was difficult to play, and, lucky for me, because he didn't play for the second match I made 192 and that was the confidence that you needed to play Test matches. The Indian tour was very special for me. My father used to say that if you go to India and start playing all the best spinners in the world then I will start believing in you; but he said that there is still one Test: after you finish India, you will have to go to Australia and play the best fast bowlers in the world. But until now -- he has passed away now -- but he never really told me that I made it."

Carl Hooper Carl Hooper made his ODI debut for West Indies in 1987 and went to play till 2003. He scored 5761 runs from 227 matches at 35.34 with the help of 7 centuries and also picked up 193 wickets including 3 4-wicket hauls.

Chris Gayle Chris Gayle scored over 10000 runs for West Indies at 38.04 with 25 centuries and also took 167 wickets at 35.13.

Dwayne Bravo Dwayne Bravo made 2968 runs from 164 one day internationals for West Indies apart from picking up 199 wickets at 29.51 with the help of 6 4-wicket hauls and the best of 6/43.
