The Thai capital is home to several top-ranked universities that welcome students from all across the world.

A city with a population of more than 10 million, Bangkok has always been the main center of education in Thailand. Here, you can find a number of universities, some of which even hold good positions in the global ranking. These provide prestigious degrees such as Bachelor's, Master's, Ph.D., etc. in a wide array of subjects at very affordable costs. Chulalongkorn University: Chulalongkorn University is the oldest institute of higher education in Thailand. Also, as per several survey reports, it's the best university in the entire country. It was founded during King Chulalongkorn's reign as a school to train the royal employees. Later, in 1917, it turned into a national university, during the reign of King Vajiravudh. Now, it has 19 faculties, three colleges, one school, and several other institutes. On the other hand, it hosts a huge range of sports tournaments as well as cultural programs throughout the year. Thammasat University: The second oldest university in Thailand, Thammasat University was originally founded as the University of Moral and Political Sciences in 1934. With time, the university included several other subjects and now, it offers over 240 academic courses in 19 faculties, seven colleges, and seven institutes. It is famous for hosting several high-standard seminars throughout the year. The original campus is in the Phra Chan area, while the other campuses are in Khlong Luang, Lampang, Pattaya, etc. The applicants need to go through some tough competitions to get admission here.

Mahidol University: Mahidol University is an autonomous public research institute that focuses on health sciences. It is named after Prince Mahidol of Songkhla - who is regarded as the "Father of Modern Medicine and Public Health of Thailand". Began as a medical school, this university now also includes Science & Technology and Social Sciences & Humanities. It offers more than 600 programs in 17 faculties, 6 colleges, and 9 research institutes. The campus consists of numerous laboratories where the students can research their specialized fields. It has often been ranked as one of the best institutions for medicine in the world. While the main campus is in Bangkok, the other campuses are in Kanchanaburi, Nakhon Sawan, and Amnat Charoen provinces.
