Chulalongkorn University: Chulalongkorn University is the oldest institute of higher education in Thailand. Also, as per several survey reports, it's the best university in the entire country. Mahidol University: Mahidol University is an autonomous public research institute that focuses on health sciences. It is named after Prince Mahidol of Songkhla - who is regarded as the "Father of Modern Medicine and Public Health of Thailand". Began as a medical school, this university now also includes Science & Technology and Social Sciences & Humanities. It offers more than 600 programs in 17 faculties, 6 colleges, and 9 research institutes. The campus consists of numerous laboratories where the students can research their specialized fields. It has often been ranked as one of the best institutions for medicine in the world. While the main campus is in Bangkok, the other campuses are in Kanchanaburi, Nakhon Sawan, and Amnat Charoen provinces.
