Film is emotion, this emotion never dies.

Film has always been an emotion for human beings. Emotions are filled in it no matter whatever genre it is covering. In modern times every day life is very busy. People are frustrated, depressed and bored. But in this typical situation film can become a saviour. Throughout Indian history if we go through the pages of Indian history, we will see that a lot of good directors with a great knowledge of the world have come up with some life changing stories. Those stories were converted into films and those films witnessed a revolution. In the list of great and evergreen directors the name of Satyajit Ray, Mrinal Sen and Ritwik Ghatak is renowned. These directors are worldwide famous and will remain so.

Satyajit Ray: The Oscar winner

Satyajit Ray was a prolific writer with an exuberant personality and charming approach towards children. Ray's films brought about a revolutionary turn in the history of Bengali, nay the world cinema. Before his appearance in the film industry, nobody thought that Bengali film culture could be that much enriched. Satyajit ray was into foreign music, and later he used that knowledge as a weapon in his films after blending them into Indian classical music without disturbing its beauty and essence. His story telling, scripting, plots, screenplay etc. was unique and attractive. His abstract sense of filmmaking was appreciated by foreign directors and Hollywood film industry. 'Hirak Rajar Deshe', ' Apur Trilogy', 'Pather Panchali', these are some unbreakable mild stones created by him. His contribution in Bengali literature is important and different. Everyone should watch his movies attest once in their lifetime.

Mrinal Sen: Padma Bhusan

This intellectual  director created a lot of great films throughout his lifetime. He used to think differently from others. His aesthetic sense was very accurate for that era, in which he was born and brought up. His political satires and the straightforward hits towards our society was remarkable. At the time the pictures he created were not expected to run even for a week, yet those films made him famous world wide. 'Neel Akasher Niche, 'Baishe Srabon', these are exceptions.

Rittik Ghatak: Rebel

This multi-talented director used his films as a tool to break through all the limitations of society. His films were based on political backgrounds. After Satyajit he was actually guiding the Bengali film industry in a different direction. No amount of words can suffice to describe him. ‘Nagarik’ is a stamp in the history of Bengali film industry.
