4 bizarre Stephen Hawking theories that turned out to be right

Here are some of unacceptable statements he made about the cosmos from black homes to universe’s humble beginnings that took time to be accepted

One of the greatest theoretical physicists of modern age, Stephen Hawkings known for his brilliant five-decade career in modern science and astronomy inspite of his lifelong battle against debilitating illness has been an inspiration for many. The scientist however, turned physics upside down after he announced black holes are not that black at all. But this was not the first time he dropped a bombshell about the nature of the cosmos.

Here are some of unacceptable statements he made about the cosmos from black homes to universe’s humble beginnings that took time to be accepted.

Big bang wings over steady state

During times when there existed a heated debate between rival theories the Big Bang and Steady Satea, Hawking’s thesis paper argued that steady state theory that suggests that universe has been expanding for evert with new matter constantly created is self-contradictory in nature. He instead suggested that universe began from an infinitely dense and small point. Today it is the universally accepted theory

Black holes are real proved a global network of radio observatories

When Hawking turned his attention towards black holes formed from stars collapsing under its own gravity and combines Einstein’s theory on general relativity with quantum mechanics. The theory now looked like it might actually exist in the universe. The final proof came when the Even Horizon telescope in 2019 captured direct image of supermassive black hole in the centre of galaxy Messier 87.

Not everything is lost in the information paradox

One mind-numbing discovery that physicists were dealing with was the existence of Hawking’s radiations, that the materials that went into making the black hole is lose forever and the radiations that come out of it says nothing about them. Hawking in his 2016 paper said that the information isn’t lost, but is stored in a zero-energy particle surrounding the black hole. It is still a hypothesis and the truth is yet to be found.

Tinkering with the idea of multiverse

Professor Hawking’s in his final theory on the origin of universe predicts that the universe is finite and far simpler than current theories. Hawking contradicted modern theories that local universe came into existence after a tiny fraction of a second post the big bang and has been expanding at an exponential rate ever. Hawkings who was not a fan of the multiverse theory came up with a novel mathematical framework that without dropping multiverse theory rendered it finite status.
