At first, another doctor from the crowd is attempting to help the boy. However, Shaun intervenes, and through the application of his innovative mind, performs a surgery, using a knife, alcohol, a pipe, and a scalpel. He makes a homemade one-way valve, and the boy can breathe. It is one of the tense but most fascinating scenes of any show and is sure to grab the viewer’s attention.

When Dr. Lim asks Shaun what he wants for Carla

This is one of the funniest scenes ever. Shaun due to autism has a problem with social cues and understanding what people want and what they mean, when they aren’t being literal. However, when discussing his relationship with Dr. Lim, he somehow catches right onto the metaphors.

When Melendez tries to comfort Shaun but ends up telling him off instead

This is one of the funniest moments. One of the most exciting developments we see through the first season is the growing relationship between Shaun and his supervisor. Dr. Melendez is both caring but also firm with Shaun. In this episode, Shaun after a breakup is heartbroken and wants to take the day off. Initially, Dr. Melendez tries to tell him to get busy with work to forget about his heartbreak. However, Shaun doesn’t obey. Then Melendez tells him with firmness to go back inside the hospital or he will not have a job left, and Shaun immediately follows. The spontaneity and natural acting in this scene make it so endearing!

When Lea gives Shaun back his apple

Lea is Shaun’s neighbor and love interest. In one of the initial episodes, Lea having an irritating moment in the morning comes to Shaun to complain and ends up eating his apple, which he had just taken out for his breakfast. At the end of the same episode, Lea comes back to apologize for her overreaction and gives him back an apple. Then he mentions his bad day. This is one of the most heartwarming moments!
