400 Kmph in 26 Seconds; The Kawasaki Ninja H2R

With the H2R, Kawasaki proved why they are the leading contestants in the automotive industry

The world has witnessed the legend of Suzuki Hayabusa as it continued to be the fastest motorcycle for a long time. The world also came across the MTT YRK; the motorcycle with a helicopter’s turbine and the Dodge Tomahawk that flaunted a V8 engine. These motorcycles left a mark in history for being the fastest motorcycles on earth. When companies like Suzuki or MTT raised their stature, Kawasaki decided not to relax on the sideline as a spectator anymore.

The Japanese manufacturer took time and in 2015, they presented an apt motorcycle and they did so in style. They covered everything to create a motorcycle that will not only run fast but will also look the best. Kawasaki blessed the world with the Ninja H2R, a motorcycle that touched a massive 400 kmph in mere 26 seconds.

Style Quotient

The Kawasaki Ninja flaunts a mirror-finished body with an enormous fairing-kit on the front that lives up to its sporty style. The rear end is as sharp as a katana with LED tail light that displays an intimidating presence. The facial fairing kit feature winglets that extends the overall aerodynamics of the motorcycle, which encourages it to cut the air and move faster. On the side, a colour trellis frame is noticed with a single-sided swingarm.

Engine

In 2016, professional rider Kenan Sofuoglu rode the Ninja H2R on the Osman Gazi Bridge in Turkey, where it created the record of making 400 kmph in 26 seconds. The reason behind the generation of such energy is a liquid-cooled inline-four, four-stroke 998cc supercharged engine. The power plant can develop a peak power of 322hp at 14, 000 rpm and a maximum torque of 165Nm at 12,500 rpm.

Chassis and Suspension

The motorcycle is equipped with high tensile steel trellis frame to undergo the excessive drama. To ensure stability at tremendous speed, the suspension duty on the front is managed by a 43mm inverted fork. On the rear, an Ohlins TTX36 gas-charged shock absorber is used.

Brakes and Electronics

At the front, dual semi-floating Brembo 320mm disc has been added that provides adequate stopping power. On the rear, a single 250mm Brembo, opposed 2-piston calliper disc, handles the duty.

On the electronics front, the H2R is equipped with Inertial Measurement Unit, Kawasaki Traction Control and Kawasaki Intelligent Anti-Lock Braking System.
