5 Brothers Who Played Cricket Together

Check out some famous brother duos in the cricketing world.

Many brother duos have dominated international cricket throughout the years, from Mike Hussey and David Hussey to Hardik Pandya and Krunal Pandya. They both have the same determination to succeed and the same aspiration to achieve while proudly representing their country.

Although there are many brother duos in cricket history, check out five of them here:

  1. Steve & Mark Waugh

The famed duo of Steve and Mark were the first identical brothers to take part in a cricket match on an international level.

For 19 years, Steve has campaigned for Australia. Steve Waugh is one of the best Test captains in the world. In his 493 international games, the great middle-order batsman scored 18,500 runs and 35 hundred. He is one of the best batters the world has ever seen and captained Australia to victory in the ICC World Cup in 1999.

Mark Waugh has accumulated 16,529 international runs and 38 centuries. With 8,500 career runs in international matches, Mark was Steve’s superior ODI batting opponent.

  1. Albie & Morne Morkel

Known for his speed, South Africa’s Albie Morkel is a batting all-around player. He played his first ODI in 2004 against New Zealand. Albie played 58 one-day international matches and one test during his limited international career, taking 50 wickets at an average of 37.98 in those matches.

A right-arm fast bowler, Morne Morkel has concreted his remarks in International cricket and in IPL. He could frighten even the best batters in the world with his pace and bounce. At the 2015 ODI World Cup, Morne was South Africa’s top wicket-taker.

  1. Hardik & Krunal Pandya

Among the most famous cricket brothers, today are Krunal and Hardik Pandya. They have served as ambassadors for Mumbai Indians, the IPL’s most lucrative franchise, for five years in a row.

The two also played together on the winning team in the 2017 and 2019 seasons. The Pandya brothers from Vadodara featured in their maiden T20 international match against New Zealand on February 6th.

  1. Mike & David Hussey

Former Australian cricketer Michael Hussey, widely known as MR Cricket, had a batting average of 51.52 in Test matches; in ODIs, it was 48.15. In addition, Mike has 22 tons in international cricket.

David, Mike’s brother, was an all-around batsman. In ODIs, his batting average is 32.65, and in T20Is, it is 22.90.

  1. Andy & Grant Flower

One of the top Zimbabwean players was Grant Flower. A wicket-keeper batsman, Andy was considered one of Zimbabwean cricket’s top Test players.

Grant and Andy served as the backbone of Zimbabwe’s batting order. They were called “Flower Power” by fans.

Moreover, Andy is the only player to debut in a world cup game with an ODI hundred.
