5 easy steps to get over Monday Blues and have a productive Monday

Monday again? The mere thought of the next day being Monday creeps the daylight out of most of us.

So, what exactly is wrong with Mondays? Is it just that it is the first day of the week, or do you need to return to your work after the lazy weekend you have spent away from your work? However, regardless of the reason, you need to shrug off the Monday Blues and get your sorted.

Here are the five steps using which you can have a productive Monday-

Plan the day

The most common mistake that most of us make is that we start our Mondays without proper planning. This leads to the overwhelming feeling that we have too much work that cannot be completed within a day. Thus, planning your day ahead can work wonders for you. You can do it by prioritizing the tasks which need to be sorted on a priority basis. This will give you the head start required to cope with Monday Blues and have a productive day.

Keep the motivation high!

Most of us make the mistake of going to work on Monday with zero motivation. This creates a situation wherein you feel you have no motivation on Monday. However, rather than caving into the Monday depression and demotivation, you can set small incentives for yourself for the completion of each of the tasks. This, while enhancing your motivation level, will also ensure the effective completion of your work.

Utilize your weekend effectively

Do not spend your weekend as if there is no Monday! Instead of partying like there is no tomorrow, you need to effectively utilize your weekend to recuperate from the previous week's exhaustion and stress. This will help you have the right energy and motivation to get through Monday.

Treat it as a typical workday

Instead of treating Monday as an evil day, you can consider it a normal one. This will likely take the psychological sting that most of us feel on Monday. Thus, don't overthink and create a long list of tasks you must complete on Monday. Instead, treat it as one of the regular working days wherein you must complete a standard work quota to get along.

Don't be too harsh on yourself

Don't try to get everything done or sorted on Monday itself. This can create a situation where you can over-pressurize yourself or be too harsh on yourself. This can negatively impact your performance and, thereby, give rise to unnecessary work stress. Hence, take it easy and go with the flow.

So, shrug off Monday Blues and take on Monday to have a productive day using these five strategies.
