Darjeeling Himalayan Railway: Darjeeling Himalayan Railway is a 2 feet narrow gauge train running between New Jalpaiguri and Darjeeling. This 88-kilometre-long railway track was constructed between 1879 and 1881. The toy train ride at the Darjeeling Himalayan Railway is an activity which one simply cannot afford to miss in the town. It was declared as a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1999.

Batasia Loop: Batasia Loop, commissioned in 1919 by the British, is a magnificent toy train pathway offering panoramic views of the Darjeeling as well as the snowy mountains of Kanchenjunga. Located in Ghum, the loop spreads over a huge area packed with tunnels, greenery, valleys and more. While passing through the tunnels in a toy train, you feel like entering a fantasy world. Also, the place is home to a memorial of Gorkha War.

Observatory Hill: The Observatory Hill, located on the hills above Chowrasta Square, is one of the most visited sites in Darjeeling. Aside from providing a magnificent view of the surrounding mountains, this place is also famous for housing a number of Hindu as well as Buddhist temples such as Kanchenjunga Temple,Mahakal Temple etc. Trekking is a highly recommend activity at this observatory.

Ghoom Monastery: Ghoom Monastery, also referred to as the Yiga Choeling, is the oldest Tibetan Buddhist Monastery in Darjeeling. Located at an altitude of 8000 feet, this monastery was established by Lama Sherab Gyatso in 1850. It houses a 15-foot-high statue of Maitreyi Buddha which is highly revered by the local residents. There are several images, paintings and manuscripts depicting the Buddhist culture inside the monastery.

Nightingale Park, Singalila National Park, St. Andrew’s Church, Happy Valley Tea Estate, Rimbik etc. are some other popular tourist attractions in Darjeeling.
