5 natural remedies for alopecia

Alopecia is a serious medical condition that causes hair loss on your scalp. The condition has several forms and develops when your immune system starts attacking the hair follicles. While the genetic mechanism is the main reason, some other factors behind alopecia are stress, poor diet, certain medications, hormonal fluctuations, etc. If left untreated, it can lead you to permanent baldness over time. Recent research has indicated that onion also supports keratin production – which is essential for hair growth. For the remedy, all you need to do is blend some onions and squeeze all the juice. Now, apply the juice to your scalp, leave it for 15 minutes and then wash off with a mild shampoo.

Coconut Oil: Coconut oil is packed with vitamins and minerals that treat alopecia effectively. Also, it eases stress and boosts blood circulation on the scalp, both help promote hair growth to a great extent. On the other hand, it contains fatty acids that restrict the loss of protein from hair. All you need to do is massage your scalp with a few drops of coconut oil. Leave it for a couple of hours and then wash it off with a mild shampoo.

Garlic: Packed with essential nutrients, garlic makes an ideal remedy for several issues including alopecia. It promotes collagen production – which is essential for hair growth. Also, it strengthens the hair follicles and boosts blood circulation on the scalp, both stimulate the growth of hair. For that, apply garlic juice to your scalp, gently massage it with your fingertips, leave it for 15 minutes and then wash off with a shampoo.

Rosemary Oil: Amongst all the essential oils, rosemary oil is the most effective to treat alopecia. It boosts blood circulation on the scalp, which further supports the growth of new hair. First, prepare a solution by mixing some rosemary oil with a few drops of olive oil. Apply the mixture to your scalp, leave it for 15 minutes and then wash off with a mild shampoo as usual.
