Taj Mahal: Taj Mahal, the epitome of eternal love, is a white marble mausoleum located on the right bank of Yamuna River in Agra. It was built by the Mughal Emperor Shahjahan in between 1631 and 1652, as a memorial for his third wife Mumtaz Mahal. The entire structure spreading over an area of 42 acres is majestically gorgeous with a perfect amalgamation of Islamic, Persian and Turkish architectural style. It's considered as one of the seven wonders in the world.
Agra Fort: Agra Fort is a UNESCO World Heritage Site built by the great Emperor Akbar between 1565 and 1573. Then, it served as the major residence of the Mughal Dynasty till 1638. Made of red sandstone, the structure is a magnificent amalgamation of Islamic, Persian, South-Asian and Turkish architectural styles. The fort comprises of several buildings such as Jahangir Mahal, Khas Mahal, Moti Masjid, Diwan-I-Khas, Diwan-I-Am, Meena Bazaar etc.
Jama Masjid: Jama Masjid or Masjid-i Jehan-Numa, one of the largest mosques in the world, is an architectural beauty located in the city of Shahjahanabad, Old Delhi. Shahjahan built this mosque between 1650 and 1656 as a symbolic node of Islamic power in India. The structure is absolutely astounding, made of white marble and red sandstone. Also, there are four towers, two minarets, three colossal domes and three gateways across the area.
Red Fort: Located in Old Delhi, Red Fort is another UNESCO World Heritage Site built by Shahjahan during 1639 - 1648. The fort got this name due to its large walls made of red sandstone. This monument is historically very significant as it served as the main residence of Mughal Dynasty during the reign of Shahjahan. The Prime Minister of India hoists India's national flag every year on Independence Day at this fort.
Pari Mahal: Prince Dara Shikhoh, the son of Mughal Emperor Shahjahan, constructed this seven-terraced garden during mid-17th century atop the Zabarwan mountain range in Srinagar, Kashmir. The monument, offering an insight into the glorious art and architectural style during Mughal reign, is surrounded by a well-maintained garden filled with trees.
