6 Bollywood Actors Who Went To Extreme Lengths To Prepare For Their Roles

Bollywood stars never fail to surprise us with their dedication and skills. Here are some actors and actresses who have passed the threshold of brilliance.

There's a common misconception that acting as a job is all fun and games. They get to jet off to beautiful locales and serve as vacation inspiration for the rest of us, dress to the nines in designer duds even at the airport, and generally lead fantastic lifestyles. However, most performers put a great deal of time and energy into practicing and living their roles. Sometimes people go too far when they attempt method acting. It can only help them maintain their personas and provide more convincing performances. Here are some actors and actresses who did commendable work in delivering their roles.

Alia Bhatt

Although she made her name in the fluffy film Student of the Year, her following roles have shown that she is more than just a pretty face. She adopted a worn appearance in Udta Punjab (as the Bihari immigrant character) and Highway (as the nomadic character). They spent much of their time on the Highway in a vehicle, pausing to photograph whenever favorable conditions presented themselves. She also had no concerns about relieving herself in a public area.

Rajkumar Rao

He puts a lot of time and effort into his part, and he might easily win an award for his commitment alone. Rajkumar went without a bath for a whole month to prepare for his role in Humari Adhuri Kahani. It was only a guest appearance, but he had to endure five or six hours of makeup to play a character who was 324 years old in Raabta. While preparing for his part in Shaurya, he lived on coffee and carrots in isolation. To get into character for his new film Bose, he's gone half bald and put on about 11 kg.

Ranveer Singh

While filming Bajirao Mastani, the strangest man in B-town apparently holed up at a hotel in Juhu. He went into seclusion for a week, writing brief messages to everyone he knew instead. Then, to try and make his acting appear natural in one scene in Lootera, he ran a mile for the shot.

Vidya Balan

Vidya Balan has carved out a successful career in Bollywood, where she has had to overcome several preconceptions. Ironically, she had to put on weight to play Silk Smitha in Dirty Picture, a part for which she won a National Award, even though early on in her Bollywood career, she was heavily criticized for her size and choice of wardrobe. For one moment in Bobby Jasoos, she went without washing her hair for a whole week.

Randeep Hooda

Perhaps he has yet to receive recognition, but he is a talented actor nonetheless. Even if the box office failure of Sarbjit did not diminish his reputation as an actor, he has delivered some of the most subtle performances the films like Highway. During 28 days, he dropped 18 pounds for the part. Specifically, he starved himself.

 Aamir Khan

Around the beginning of the new millennium, Aamir Khan became known as "Mr. Perfectionist," and he did so for a good cause. He prepares for his parts by learning everything he can about them. He has undergone extreme makeovers for movies like Ghajini, Dangal, and PK. For PK, practiced his Bhojpuri dialect for two years. The paan-tainted look of his tongue and teeth in the film was achieved by eating around 100 betel leaves.
