There is nothing more calming and a happy feeling than relishing on a plate full of delicious food and leaving with a full stomach. Though not everything that is edible suits one’s stomach as most often than not things we eat for taste end up hurting us. Like how every individual is different, one’s eating capacity and digestion also works differently. What might suit your stomach, will upset someone else’s. Also, for people with sensitive stomachs, free munching anything that lands in front of them is not possible. So here is a list of foods that anyone, not specifically weak digestion people, can consume to keep a healthy stomach.

Ginger This herb is an excellent natural remedy in treating nausea and vomiting in case of an upset stomach. You can chop in cubes and eat it raw, boil in water and drink ginger water, add in tea or in food – its effect reaches the body in all forms. Ginger can also be used as a natural remedy for motion sickness as it regulates the nervous system.

Broths A vegetable or bone - amino acid glutamine - the broth is good for the body. These help maintain the intestinal barrier (IB) and helps protect the body from harmful pathogens and toxins. A broth with the juices of the vegetable and bones has numerous nutrients that help the body absorb water and nutrients from the food.

Bananas Bananas are a great source of potassium and other electrolytes, which a person may lose due to a bad stomach. Banana is soothing and gentle on the stomach and helps calm the heat down in the body, at the same time keeping one full and providing energy.

Probiotic Probiotics are the best kind of food for the digestive and the immune system. Either consume probiotics through supplements or eat foods that are naturally rich in probiotics. Probiotic-rich foods are unsweetened yogurt, kimchi, kefir, tempeh, and kombucha.

Flaxseed These natural seeds also known as linseed are famous for being the fibrous seed that helps regulate bowel movements and relieve abdominal pain. You either consume ground flaxseed meal or flaxseed oil, both are of the same effect. A daily dose of flaxseed prevents stomach ulcers and reduces intestinal spasms.

Papaya It is one of those fruits that is mostly found on the plate of a diabetic person, constipated people or the one’s following a diet. A sweet orange tropical fruit is a natural remedy for indigestion as it is a powerhouse of a powerful enzyme that breaks down proteins in the food, making them easier to digest and absorb.
