6 signs you need more sleep

Dont forget to notice these signs about not getting enough sleep.

As you grow older, you will find it more difficult to get a good night's rest despite being extremely tired. You will feel that something or the other will keep getting in your way of perfect sleep. Also don’t forget that the required number of hours to sleep varies person to person, although for some it might never be enough.

Falling asleep easily

Falling asleep whenever or wherever may be considered a blessing for some, but it may instead be a sign that you need more sleep. Because if you would have been getting your required number of sleep hours, you would not nap at any given opportunity.

You sleep in later

Sleeping in later than normal is again a sign that you might need more sleep. If you are 'oversleeping', let’s say clocking 6 hours of sleep per night but intend to sleep longer on weekends, you may be sleep deprived. That’s why you end up feeling tired all the time and feel like sleeping in late at any time you get.

Unable to lose weight

If you are working hard to lose weight but all your efforts are ineffective plus your eating habits are uncontrollable, you should analyse the hours of sleep you've been getting lately. Sleep deprivation can lead to a dysregulation of our appetite control hormones ghrelin and leptin. They not only increase hunger but also lead to physical and mental exhaustion.

Unable to concentrate

If you feel impossible to get your work done despite being on a deadline, the reason behind it may be that you are not getting enough sleep. Hence, you are not able to stay alert and focused.

Low energy level

Despite getting enough sleep throughout the week, if you feel lethargic in doing day-to-day responsibilities, you are certainly sleep deprived. For example, you do not end up going to that pilates class even after knowing that you will have to pay additional cancellation fees. Drinking caffeinated drinks may help in giving you a kick start but nothing compared to good old-fashioned sleep.

Body aches and pains

You must think that if you feel body aches and pains, you might think that you are either sick or it is because of your hard workout. However, it can also be a sign of sleep deprivation. Do not forget that not enough sleep can often leave people achy and irritated.
