The scenic natural beauty of Manali has been captured a number of times in Bollywood movies.

Manali, a gorgeous hill station located in the state of Himachal Pradesh, seems no less than a paradise to the tourists. Also, the destination always tops the priority list among the Bollywood filmmakers, whenever it comes to shooting in a hilly region. It offers a lot such as snowcapped mountains, spectacular valleys, cascading streams, lush green forests, sacred temples, serene roads etc. that add a sense of aesthetics when captured in movies. Over the years, numerous Bollywood movies have been shot in various parts of Manali. Let's have a look at some of the most popular movies among them.

Aap Ki Kasam: The Rajesh Khanna starrer 'Aap Ki Kasam' (1974) was one of the first Bollywood movies to be shot in Manali. The title song of the film truly takes us on a virtual trip to the superb hill station.

Henna: 'Henna' is a 1991 romance drama movie starring Rishi Kapoor, Zeba Bakhtiar, Ashwini Bhave and others. The Kashmir part of the movie was actually shot in various regions of Manali.

Ghulam: 'Ghulam', starring Aamir Khan and Rani Mukerji, is a cult action-drama movie revolving around an amateur boxer. The song sequence "Aankhon Se Tune Ye Kya Keh Diya" was shot at Chandiyari which is located on the banks of Beas River, Manali.

Jab We Met: The Imtiaz Ali directorial venture 'Jab We Met' captured the sheer elegance of Manali in an aesthetically beautiful manner. The song sequence "Yeh Ishq Haye" was shot across the snow-covered roads in Rohtang Pass.

Krrish: 'Krrish', starring Hrithik Roshan and Priyanka Chopra, was shot extensively across Solang Valley, Manali. The first half of the movie is set amidst the snowcapped mountains along with lush green meadows and fierce streams of the site.

Dev D: Anurag Kashyap's iconic movie 'Dev D' showcased the quirky beauty of Manali in a slightly different approach. But still, the movie did proper justice to the raw snow-covered roads of Rohtang Pass, Manali.

Bang Bang: The 2014 action-drama movie 'Bang Bang' had its shooting locations in various parts of India as well as foreign countries. A major scene of the movie was shot at a bridge in Manali. The bridge then became extremely popular and went on to be renamed as the Bang Bang Point.

Yeh Jawani Hai Deewani: The Ayan Mukerji directorial blockbuster movie 'Yeh Jawani Hai Deewani' popularized Manali as the ultimate trekking destination among youth in India. A fun sequence of the movie was shot at the backdrop of the Hadimba Temple.
