Ratchaphruek

The ratchaphruek (royal tree), known as the chaiyapruek,are beautiful, small, yellow flowers that are commonly seen alongside roads, parks, and in gardens. It is also Thailand’s national flower and blooms at the end of the cool season.

Lotus

Found in ponds, rivers, lakes, and large, water-filled urns, Lotus is part of Thai’s religious symbol and is used especially within temples as it is also the flower of Buddhism. The aquatic comes in varied colours of pink, purple, or white. Lotus seeds are also a delicacy and its plant also has medicinal properties.

Orchid

Especially common in Northern Thailand, one can find 1,000 different species of orchids in the nation, which is also the world's leading exporter of the plant. They can add to the floral beauty of anything and they come in a vast diversity of colours and sizes, like brassavola, dendrobium, cymbidium, mokara, and vanda. These flowers usually bloom in January and August.

Frangipani

Native to Thailand, the flower is often used as decoration. They come in a wide range of colours like pink, white, or yellow and are also used in spiritual rituals. With a strong, sweet smell, this flower can also be used to make perfume.

Krachiao

This stunning purple krachiao flower, also known as the Siamese tulip, blooms in the rainy season. Head to Chaiyaphum, a province in Northeast Thailand, to witness it in all its glory or visit a flower festival from June to August.

Jasmine

Jasmine, as we all know, has an enticingly sweet aroma, but it actually the symbol of Mother’s Day in Thailand. They are often used in offerings at temples, or can be used to make perfumes and essential oils.

Hibiscus

This flower can be seen all around Thailand and comes in a variety of shades and sizes. Used to make tea and also as a traditional herbal remedy, Hibiscus is very common.
