A few ways and tips to dress up in indo-western style

Break the mundane dressing and spice it up a bit

Absolutely nothing, nothing compares to the charm of Indian clothing. Be it a saree, salwar kameez, a simple kurta, or a crop top in traditional prints, all in totality come alive when paired with another conventional bottom. For an Indian look is gorgeous from top to bottom. But have you ever tried pairing that heavily done kurta with a western eye for a change? Well, believe it or not, such a pairing is a boom combination. It is a perfect example of a simple mix and match of fashion. Well, here are a few simple ways of pairing that traditional look with a westernized combination.

Accessorizing the Indian way

So when you take a look at your cupboard, and all you find is all westernized clothing that is difficult to pair with an Indian dress, all you need to do is pick funky Indianised jewellery to complete the look. Not just that, at times, you might not also be comfortable putting on a complete Indian face but still crave for that traditional touch, putting on a piece of oxidized metal or a gold plated artificial neckpiece, that of course, compliments your western attire. The pairing of the denim and a top can be accessorized with a silver neckpiece or an earring.

Footwear magic

Well, yes, a simple footwear choice can also do the trick in making an indo-western look. The best is adding Indian footwear – be it a kohlapuri, flat chappal, or embellished juttis. Just like how oxidized silver jewellery adds the charm and necessary indie look to western dressing, a pair of footwear does the same magic. A colourful jutti or a Kohlapuri is a sure short best never to fail combination when mixing it with the western outfit.

Denim jacket over Indian attire

I bet you didn’t think of pairing a denim jacket with Indian attire. A simple combination of ethnic wear with western clothing is a combination for people who all always up for experimenting. Any printed ghagra paired with a crop top or blouse or a long kurta, adding a denim jacket over it creates an immediate modern look. To add more fun, a statement neckpiece and trendy sneakers will add the remaining charm.

Wrap around top

This is one of the chic yet classy Indian mixed with western looks that will make heads turn. This Indo-Western saree look comes easy with a wrap-around top – with or without sleeves worn over a saree.
