Actress and activist Susan Sarandon began her acting career with the 1970 drama film, Joe, starring as Janet Weiss in the musical comedy horror film The Rocky Horror Picture Show. Before she made it to the silver screen, Sarandon made an astonishing stand-out on the theatre stage with Broadway plays. Known for her natural performance as an actor, Sarandon has built a body of impeccable work over decades. This 1980 romantic crime film stars Burt Lancaster, Kate Reid, Robert Joy, Hollis McLaren, and Susan Sarandon. The film shows Sarandon portraying the role of Sally - a cocktail waitress and an aspiring croupier. What is commendable about Sarandon's acting is her charm in bringing to life the sultrier waitress. The story picks up when Sally gets involved with Lou Pascal, played by Burt Lancaster, who essays the role of a fading mafia man. As the plot progresses, it shows the story of two broken souls coming together and finding solace in each other.

This 1992 drama film is based on the true story of Augusto and Michaela Odone, parents who head out in a relentless search for a cure for their son Lorenzo's adrenoleukodystrophy (ALD). Nick Nolte's performance as Augusto Odone and Susan Sarandon’s portrayal as Michaela Odone steals the show as struggling parents. The film was well-received by the critics and recorded two nominations at the 65th Academy Awards.

This 1998 drama film has a screenplay from a story by Levangiem and is virtually identical to the 1995 TV Movie The Other Woman written by Nancey Silvers. The film stars Julia Roberts, and Ed Harris, besides Susan Sarandon. The film's story revolves around a terminally ill woman secretly battling cancer, played by Susan Sarandon. The report further follows Sarandon as she deals with her ex-husband, played by Ed Harris's new lover – Julia Roberts, who will soon be their children's stepmother.
