How to Reach

A visit to Lamai Beach is usually combined with many other things to do on the island of Koh Samui.

From Koh Samui Airport, the best option is to take a bus or hire a cab, as this will take less than 30 minutes to reach Lamai Beach.

You can also rent a motorbike (for around 150-200 baht per day) for the same.

Best Time to Visit

Just like all other Thai tourist destinations, Lamai Beach also has a tropical climate. Hence, it’s advised to avoid summer andmonsoon when visiting here.

The best time to visit here is winter taking place between December and February.

Things to Do

As already mentioned, the most rewarding thing to do on Lamai Beach is to take a long walk and enjoy lots of me-time. However, there are many other activities that you can take part in as well.

Visit Hin Ta & Hin Yai rocks: Hin Ta & Hin Yai rocks (also called the Grandfather and Grandmother Rocks) are the most popular attractions in Lamai. These rock formations are located at the southern end of the beach.

Enjoy the amazing views from the Lamai Viewpoint: The Lamai Viewpoint is an ideal place if you want to witness the splendid beauty of mother nature. It offers a superb view down to the sea, which will surely leave you in awe. You can also visit the Overlap Stone for the same as well.

Explore the nearby temples: There are many temples in and around Lamai. The most popular one is the Wat Ratchathammaram, which is famous for its terracotta. The list also includes Wat Lamai, Guan Yu Shrine, and more.
