The most iconic boy band of all times that revolutionized the music industry.
The Beatles would always be known for the “British invasion” on not only the music industry but the pop culture of yesteryears. They were loved by millions, hated and criticized by millions and influenced many generations of musicians and music lovers. Do you know that by the year 2012, the Beatles had sold over two billion albums worldwide? This alone shows that the Beatles are iconic and timeless, who hasn’t lost an inch of sheen even after 60 years. Here are some of the fascinating facts about the Fab Four.
- The Beatles are known for their record placing for 1278 weeks on the Billboard Charts.
- Their debut album was such a rage that it held the numero uno status for more than thirty weeks.
- It is believed that the Beatles were inspired by Buddy Holly and the Crickets. After the untimely death of Holly Buddy, they wanted to name their band after some insect. So, the beetle struck a chord with them. John Lennon is known to love puns, so they changed the spelling of Beetles to the Beatles.
- Interestingly, John Lennon’s father, who was an absentee in his son life, came barging back after the popularity of the Beatles.
- The Beatles were quite enamoured by Elvis Presley, especially John Lennon. But it is said he was hugely disappointed after meeting Presley as not as chatty and engaging as they believed he would be.
- Before appearing in the famous Ed Sullivan Show in the U.S, the Beatles were quite nervous and believed that American wouldn’t like their music. But to their surprise, they performed houseful shows and sold-out shows. They captured the American music lover’s heart and soul with their music.
