While winter is a season of happiness, there's another aspect that is not fun at all! As the temperature decreases, it might reduce the water molecules present in your skin cells, which in turn leaves the skin dry, dull as well as itchy. Also, it's linked to various skin infections, some of which can even become critical over time! So, needless to say, that you should take a closer look at your skincare regimen this season. However, if you still don't get any positive results, there's a high chance that you are making plenty of mistakes without realizing the consequences.

Taking hot showers every day

Showering with hot water feels extremely refreshing during winter. As the weather outside is chilled, hot showers warm your body and make you feel good. However, it can wreak havoc on your skin health in the long run. It removes the natural oils from your skin and leaves it dry, itchy, and more sensitive. Also, it leaves the skin pores open, which further leads you to a lot of issues. So, shower with lukewarm water instead!

Not using the sunscreen

As the sun remains less prevalent during winter, most people tend to skip on their sunscreen while stepping out. In doing so, your skin gets exposed to harmful UV rays. As a result, you start experiencing tan, skin redness, and even skin aging. So, never forget to use sunscreen whenever you leave your house.

Not exfoliating properly

Exfoliating the skin at least two times every week is a must for your skin health. It is highly crucial to remove all the dead cells from your skin - which further prevents the risk of acne breakouts. But in winter, due to the extreme dryness, a lot of people do not exfoliate their skin properly. This can be very harmful leaving your skin dry, flaky, as well as irritated. On the other hand, exfoliating too often is bad for your skin as well.

Excessive use of moisturizer, not caring about the feet, using the wrong products, etc. are some other mistakes you should avoid right now.
