  • Tie your hair
You should always pull your hair back into a ponytail or using hairpins and clips, irrespective of the hair length. Sweat combined with hair products will cause breakouts and clog pores on your forehead.
  • Clean your face
Before working out, always clean and wash your face to remove makeup and dirt. When makeup and sweat mix, it can cause skin irritation and breakouts.
  • Apply sunscreen
If you are getting your fitness on outdoors in the sun, then remember to apply a thick layer of sunscreen all over your face and exposed body parts. To have the sunscreen absorbed, apply it at least 15 to 20 minutes before heading out.

Post-workout tips

After you have finished your workout, follow the below skin care routine tips.

  • Cleanse and exfoliate your face
As soon as you finish a workout, it is crucial to wash off the sweat from your face. Otherwise, the pores will clog on your face and lead to breakouts. Remember to use a gentle cleanser that is not harsh on your skin. On a few days of the week, you can also exfoliate your face using a scrub or a pack.
  • Apply moisturizer
After washing your face, it is important to apply a moisturizer, as the cleanser can remove moisture from your face and leave it dry.
  • Do not forget your body
People generally tend to overlook their body post-workout. Therefore, it is important to take a clean shower and change into a new set of clothes after working out to avoid chest and back acne. The sweat released from your body gets absorbed in your clothes, which will clog pores and cause body acne.
