Best Crossover Cars Under 10 Lakh in India

Under INR 10 lakh, the country offers a few crossover cars, but most of them are pretty good

What is a crossover car? It is a hatchback car but has certain elements of an SUV. For example, crossover cars have better ground clearance, larger boot space and more. Also known as a cross utility vehicle, under the INR 10 lakh barrier, India has a few crossovers to offer. In this article, we have listed the best ones purchasable in 2021. 

Hyundai i20 Active- From the house of Hyundai, the i20 Active is one of the best crossovers in the country. The Active is present in two engine variants: 1,197cc and 1,396cc. The 1,197cc generates a peak power of 82hp and a torque figure of 115Nm, whereas the 1,396cc variant makes a peak power of 89hp and a maximum torque of 220Nm. Hyundai Active is loaded with premium features such as child safety lock, keyless entry, ABS, Bluetooth connectivity, rear parking sensors, rear parking cameras, airbags and more. The Active is available in four different trims. The price of the base model is INR 7.74 lakh, whereas the top of the trip model hits a price tag of 9.93 lakh. 

Maruti Suzuki S-Cross- Offered in four variants such as Sigma, Delta, Zeta and Alpha, the S-Cross is available in manual and automatic transmission options. The S-Cross is powered by a single powertrain; a 1.5-litre K15B petrol enginetuned to produce a peak power of 103hp at 6,000rpm and 138Nm of peak torque at 4,400rpm. As per the company, the S-Cross returns a claimed ARAI certified mileage of 18.55 kilometres per litre (manual) and 18.43 kilometres per litre (automatic). In the features and safety department, the S-Cross is laden with terms such as SmartPlay infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, along with automatic climate control and cruise control. Not to forget, it is equipped with dual front airbags, EBD, ABS, seatbelt reminder, high-speed warning, and hill hold assist. 

Honda WR-V- Compared to the listed cars above, the Honda WR-V looks way better and is equipped with an i-VTEC, four-cylinder-inline, 1,199cc engine which generates a peak power of 89hp at 6,000rpm and 110Nm at 4,800rpm of torque. The car has a boot space of 363 litres and a fuel tank capacity of 40 litres. There are two rows in the car that accommodates five passengers comfortably, but there is enough space for a sixth passenger to travel. Priced at INR 8.7 lakh, the Honda WR-V is a forward-driven car that has a ground clearance of 188 millimetres.
