Futsal, a new kind of football which is played in indoor stadiums on hard courts, has recently become extremely famous in several parts of the world. Each team comprises five players (four on-field, one goalkeeper) with majority of the rules analogous to football. Since the game has gone famous in the last few years, several countries with futsal teams have taken part in numerous international tournaments to establish a name in the history of the freshly formed sport. In this article, we have compiled a list of the countries with the strongest national futsal teams.
Brazil- Technically, futsal is a kind of football and therefore, it is not a surprise that Brazil’s name occurs at the top of our list. One of the strongest futsal teamsin the world, the futsal team of Brazil is acknowledged as the Canarinho. Since the inception of the FIFA Futsal World Cup, Brazil has taken part in all the eight seasons. Out of the eightseasons, Brazil has won the world title on five occasions, which makes them the finest in futsal.
Spain- Another football playing nation, the national futsal team of Spain is packed with talented futsal players. So far, the futsal team of Spain has picked up the World Cup title on two occasions in 2002 and 2004. Not to forget, the team has also won seven European Futsal Championships so far. One thing to note that as of 2 May 2021, Spain holds 1,803 points and therefore, they should be on the top of the table. However, we have Brazil on the top because of their five world cup titles.
Argentina- The country of Argentina is known for its football-playing abilities, as the country has won many Football World Cup trophies and has given birth to legends such as Diego Maradona and Lionel Messi. In the world of futsal, the South American country is no different. So far, the Argentinian futsal team has taken part in eight seasons, picking up one title and reaching the finals on many occasions. Not to forget, the Argentinian futsal team has won the Copa America de Futsal tournament twice. At the time of drafting this article, Argentina holds 1,698 points.
