Bollywood Actors Who Became Big Stars Overnight After the Release of Their First Movies (Part I)

Bollywood is a strange place to be, sometimes it takes years to make a mark here and sometimes some becomes big stars after a single movie release. Today here we will discuss about few actors who became big stars after the release of their first movies.

Aamir Khan

Aamir Khan today is one of the biggest stars in the country. He made his debut in 1988 with Qayamat Se QayamatTak.

Technically saying, Qayamat se QayamatTak was not Aamir Khan’s first movie as he acted as a child artist in Yaadon Ki Baarat and acted in an art movie named Holi but Qayamat Se Qayamat was the big launch of Aamir Khan. Along with him Juhi Chawla also acted in the movie and it became a big hit and made both of them big stars overnight, especially Aamir Khan who was flooded with movie offers post QSQT.

Hrithik Roshan

Unarguably Hrithik Roshan’s debut  withKaho Na Pyaar Hai was the best ever debut any newcomer made ever in Bollywood.

It was the year 2000 and Bollywood was ruled by the Khans along with a few others like Ajay Devgn and Akshay Kumar and then came Kaho Na Pyaar Hai with Hrithik Roshan in the lead. The movie was a blockbuster and that was not something new as many actors gave hit movies with their debut but Hrithik Roshan’s debut created a mass hysteria all across the country. Boys wanted to look like him and girls fantasized about him. It was one of a kind debut that made Hrithik Roshan a superstar with his very first movie.

Ajay Devgn

Ajay Devgn made his debut in Kuku Kohli’sPhoolaurKaante and it was a smash hit and marked Ajay Devgn’s arrival in Bollywood.

Ajay Devgn’s entry scene in PhoolaurKaante on the two motorcycles is one best entry scenes ever for a debutant. The image is still fresh in the minds of his fans and today Ajay Devgn is one of the most famous actors even after almost thirty years of his debut.  PhoolaurKaante was a big hit and Ajay Devgn got the Filmfare Award for Best Debut (Male).

Rishi Kapoor

Rishi Kapoor became an instant star of the release of his first movie as a lead Bobby and the movie was directed by his father Raj Kapoor who was also known as the Showman of Bollywood.

It was 1973 when Rishi and Dimple Kapadia made their Bollywood debut with the Raj Kapoor directed teenage love story Bobby. Their chemistry in the movie was appreciated by all and the film did quite good business and smashed many  box office records at the time of its release. The movie had some very good songs also and Rishi Kapoor won all awards that year for his debut.
