Bollywood films that flopped at the box office, but gave us some superhit songs

These Bollywood films couldn't succeed at the box office, but gave us some superhit songs which are still popular.

In Bollywood, soundtrack is the heart of a movie and plays an important role in the narrative. Also, there have been some movies where songs are the only thing that's worth mentioning. Due to cliche storyline, poor making or terrible performance, those films failed to impress its audience and bombed at the box office, but the songs became superhit and even after years of its release, they are equally popular among the people.

  1. Jhaankar Beats: The film couldn't impress its audience and failed at the box office, but the only thing that's still popular about the movie is its iconic songs and background music. The melody of songs like "Tu Ashiqui Hai" and "Suno Na" still mesmerizes us whenever we listen to them.
  2. Jhoom Barabar Jhoom: While the film gained negative feedback from both the audience and the critics, the soundtrack became a massive hit and the title track literally became the party anthem of that time. Also, the song "Bolna Halke Halke" is still considered as one of the best romantic songs of all time.
  3. Kareeb: This 1998 Bollywood movie is only remembered for its brilliant songs, composed by Anu Malik. Songs like "Chura Lo Na Dil Mera" and "Chori Chori Jab Nazrein Mili" still soothe our heart by their melodies.
  4. Anwar: "Maula Mere Maula" and "Tose Naina Lage", the hypnotic beauty of these two songs can't be described by words. Nobody remembers the film but the songs still create magic in our hearts every time we listen to them.
  5. Yaadein: The film is an example of Anu Malik's brilliance. Songs like "Yaadein", "Jab Dil Mile" and "Eli Re Eli" were loved by everyone for their beautiful lyrics and melodious composition.
  6. Saawariya: Sanjay Leela Bhansali is a very underrated music composer whose brilliance lies in each of his films. His film 'Saawariya', in which Ranbir Kapoor and Sonam Kapoor made their acting debut, became a disaster at the box office for its weak storyline and slow pace. But songs like "Saawariya", "Jab Se Tere Naina" and "Masha-Allah" are still favourite of music lovers.
  7. Fitoor: Breathtaking visuals and soulful music are the only two things worth mentioning about this movie. Amit Trivedi did an outstanding job as composer and all the songs, especially "Pashmina" are brilliant in true sense.
  8. Baar Baar Dekho: Due to several reasons, the film couldn't impress a single person and bombed at the box office, but songs like "Sau Aasman" and "Daariya" touched everyone. "Kala Chashma" became the most popular party anthem in that year.
Also 'Shaandaar', 'Roy', 'Jeans', 'Yuvvraaj', 'Barsaat' etc are some of those Bollywood films that fall under this category.
