Boring weekends ahead? Here’s How to make your weekends productive

Smart people understand the value of devoting their weekends to calming and renewing activities. But do they know, what all they can do to make it productive? Well, they will now.

Some people have an amazing capacity to complete tasks. They keep their nights and weekends sacred and still do more than those who work 10 or 20 hours more every week. 'Productivity" has a far broader definition than many of us realise. We tend to associate productivity with action rather than taking time to think, rest and reflect. Consider the suggestions in the list below. Some of these are more focused on the traditional concept of productivity, while others are more concerned with giving yourself a rest.

Exercise

Don’t have time to exercise throughout the week? Every weekend, you have 48 hours to make it happen. Moving your body for as little as 10 minutes releases GABA, a stress-reducing neurotransmitter. Exercise is also an excellent technique to generate fresh ideas. Innovators and other successful people understand that going outside frequently spurs innovation.

Disconnect

The most critical weekend technique is disconnecting, because if you can't find a method to disconnect electronically from your work Friday evening through Monday morning. You have never truly left work. Making yourself available to your business 24 hours a day, seven days a week exposes you to a constant assault of pressure, preventing you from concentrating and recharging. Scheduling brief blocks of time will relieve stress while preserving availability.

Follow a passion

You might be shocked at what happens when you pursue a hobby on the weekends. Indulging your passions is a terrific method to relieve stress and open your mind to new ideas. Playing music, reading, painting, writing, or even playing catch with your kids can help encourage diverse modes of recognition, which can pay tremendous benefits in the next week.

Minimise chores

Chores have a strange knack for fully dominating your weekends. When this happens, you miss out on the chance to unwind and contemplate. You should schedule your duties just like you would anything else during the week and if you don't accomplish them in the allowed time, you should go on and finish them later.

Spend quality time with your loved ones

If you want to recuperate and unwind over the weekend, you must spend quality time with your family. Visit your parents, take your children to the park and take your spouse to his or her favourite restaurant. You will be happy you did.

Declutter your living areas

Consider everything you have in your house that you haven't touched in years or months yet are afraid to part with. The shoes you no longer wear. The unopened kitchen appliance you received three years ago for Christmas. All those old recipes and notes that you have not examined in a long time. You will feel much better after decluttering your living areas, especially if you can sell some of the stuff online or donate it to a good cause.

Go for some fun on Sunday night

Sunday blues are seldom enjoyable. Consider doing something you will truly look forward to doing with those final few precious weekend hours rather than going through all of your tedious work emails. It’s watching Game of Thrones for me. It may be creating a delicious dinner, going on a walk with your dog, reading a book or practising meditation. Though you should reflect every day, weekends are an excellent opportunity to take a step back and consider what brought you joy.

Make your every weekend productive and cut off the boredom by indulging in these activities to create a better week ahead.
