Cheapest 4+ wicket haul for Indian pacers in ODIs

Stuart Binny has conceded the least runs while picking up four or more wickets for India in one day internationals.

6/4 S Binny vs Ban Mirpur 2014

Stuart Binny in fact holds the record for the best bowling figures for India in one day internationals as he picked up six wickets while giving away just 4 runs from 4.4 overs against Bangladesh at Mirpur in June 2014.

He also holds the record for giving away the least number of runs while picking up for or more wickets in ODI.

4/8 Bhuvneshwar vs SL Port of Spain 2013

Bhuvneshwar Kumar conceded just 8 runs while picking four wickets against Sri Lanka in 2013, becoming second on the list of Indian bowlers with the most economical figures while picking up four wickets or more in one day internationals.

4/12 P Krishna vs WI Ahmedabad 2022

Prasidh Krishna earned the player of the match award in the second ODI between India and West Indies for his figures of 4 for 12.

Prasidh Krishna, Player of the Match: I have been striving hard to do this for a long time. So, I am very happy that we won. I was still looking to hit the good areas. When I came in to bat, I knew it was still seaming. I would have laughed it off (If someone would have told him he would finish with the figures he ended with). I had seen the wicket in the last game. Experimenting wasn’t possible as there was not much to defend. So, I stuck to good lines. I want to be as consistent as possible. The white ball cricket is a power game.

He produced an encore in the third ODI as well and picked up the player of the series award as well, finishing with 9 wickets from three matches — the most by any bowler in the series.

Prasidh Krishna, Player of the Series:  Now that I’ve been practising a lot – played a few VH games as well – so there’s a lot of overs in me. Anything going to the keeper and to the slips – I love that. Quite nice to see the ball getting the carry. Glad that there are people behind who aren’t going to miss the opportunity. Ball flying to the keeper – something every fast bowler wants. The kind of guys we have in the team are very good, we’ve been learning off each other. Still being grounded that way. Been a team effort.

Justifying hours of watching sports by scribbling down a few logical lines that might just about hold your interest. Was not talented enough to make it as a professional cricketer, so the next best logical option was to enroll in a Mass Communication course, and write about sports instead. Because, what else is there to write about in this world, right?
