Comedian Seth Rogen's best movies for a laughter riot

From writing to delivering ace comedy roles on screen, he is an actor to look forward to

A Canadian actor, comedian, writer, and filmmaker Seth Rogen is well known for his comedy portrayals. However, thanks to his initial days as a stand-up comedian in Vancouver led him to a career in films and gave us amazingly hilarious movies. Not only has he acted in front of the camera, but Rogen has been active behind the camera as well. Rogen has been nominated for a Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Writing for a Variety Series as a staff writer. His filmy career started with his first movie appearance in a minor role in Donnie Darko and then a supporting role in Judd Apatow's directorial debut, The 40-Year-Old Virgin. Since then, there has been no looking back for Seth Rogen. Here are a few more movie suggestions for a Seth Rogen movie night.

Zeroville

This 2019 comedy-drama is based on the 2007 postmodern novel of the same name by author Steve Erickson. However, the film didn't do well with the critics and the audience. However, since the novel was well declared by many to be unfilmable, it turns out the execution did prove it right. Apart from Seth Rogen, the film also stars Franco, Megan Fox, Joey King, Danny McBride, Craig Robinson, and Jacki Weaver.

The Guilt Trip

This 2012 road comedy by director Anne Fletcher is brought to screen from a screenplay written by Dan Fogelman, starring Barbra Streisand apart from Seth Rogen. Rogen portrays the role of a UCLA graduate who is an organic chemist and inventor. The film's story revolves around Rogen trying to get his environmentally friendly cleaning product into a major retail store.  But after many failed attempts and disappointments, he visits his mother, Joyce Brewster, played by Barbra Streisand. This from where the funny road ride picks up. Both Seth and Streisand served as executive producers on the film, which received mixed reviews from critics.

You, Me And Dupree

This 2006 film by the Russo Brothers - who otherwise are known to have directed some of the biggest and interesting Marvel movies - didn’t do justice to their reputation. The usual concept of the film stars two versions of Seth Rogen and follows the tried and tested conventional storyline of the boy meets girl scenario.

His films are Knocked Up, Funny People, Superbad, Pineapple Express, Monsters Vs. Aliens, The Green Hornet, This Is the End, The Interview. Seth Rogen is also the voice behind the films Shrek the Third, Horton Hears a Who!, the Kung Fu Panda film series, The Spiderwick Chronicles, Monsters vs Aliens, Paul, Sausage Party, and Pumbaa in the 2019 version of The Lion King.
