In countries where roads are wider and there’s space to drive fast, it is easier for a criminal to getaway immediately after committing an offence. Hence, police forces of such countries rely heavily on fancy sports car that are extremely fast and does the job in no time.
From Lamborghini to Lotus, we have compiled a list of some of the coolest police cars from around the world.
The police force from Dubai is renowned for flaunting a bunch of fancy sports car. In the sports segment, they have the BMW i8 which is hybrid sports car equipped with a powerful electric motor along with 1.5-litre petrol engine. The police force also boast of the Ferrari FF which is a four-seater Ferrari with a V-12 engine for hot pursuits. Not to mention, Dubai police force also uses the Bugatti Chiron along with several other high-end cars from brands like Bentley, Aston Martin and McLaren.
Italian State Police
The Italian State Police uses the Lamborghini Huracan and Gallardo which are used for Highway Patrol and to transport blood and organs during an emergency. The Huracan is equipped with 5,204cc engine that can develop 640hp and reach a top speed of 413 kmph. On the other hand, the older Gallardo is equipped with same engine but produces less power of 550hp and does a top speed of 320 kmph. Both the cars are heavily modified as per the requirement of the police.
Just like the Dubai police, the police force of UK has an arsenal of fancy cars. However, the most prominent ones are the Lotus Evora S and the McLaren 12C. The Lotus Evora S is equipped with a 3.5-litre engine that generates 346hp of power and torque of 400Nm. Compared to the Evora, the 12C carries a 3.8-litre engine under the hood with power figures of 592hp and 600Nm.
The Australian Police have four powerful cars at their disposal such as the Porsche Panamera, Tesla Model X, Porsche Carrera 911, Volvo S60 Polestar and the HSV GT. In this list, the Australian Police are the only force who are relying on a purely electric vehicle.
The U.S Police has been using the Dodge Charger for a long time that features a 5.7-litre HEMI engine and develops a peak power of 370hp and torque of 529NM. For undercover work, the force relies on the Nissan GT-R which are used by special agents in several undercover operations.
