Cream, powder or liquid blush- Which one is the best for your face?

Adding a flush of bright colours as a blush has become a favourite step in our beauty routine! Blush is also the easiest to make your dull skin looking fresh, rejuvenating it instantly. But with so many formulas of blush available, how do we choose the best one for our skin type?

If you have also struggled with choosing the right formula of blush, here we have made a comprehensive guide on how to choose the best blush formula for your makeup.

  • Skin tint/ liquid blush
Among various types of blush, skin tint or liquid blush can give one the most subtle flush without looking cakey or largening your pores.

Skin tint can be used on bare skin, or on top of light BB Cream formula. The ideal way to apply skin tint is to take it on the tip of your fingers, warm it up by slightly tapping your fingers together and apply it on the top of your apples of the cheek.

  • Powder Blush
Powder blush happens to be the most used category of blush. Yet, there are plenty of makeup looks where a powder blush can look muddy or highlight your pores.

If you are choosing to apply powder blush, always dust some powder (setting/ baking) on your skin first to get the subtlest glow of colours.

Bonus tip - Avoid applying powder blush on top of a liquid foundation base. If you have open pores or uneven textures, also stay away from shimmery blush as it quickly catches on the pores and makes it look more uneven.

Cream blush

Cream blush is slowly becoming everyone's favourite and we can totally understand why. Cream blush gives you the softest look. If applied properly, it can also help shape your face.

What to avoid while applying cream blush?

Cream blush should not be applied on top of a powder. If you are going for a liquid foundation formula, apply the blush right after foundation and only after it settles on skin, use powder to finish off the look.

Best shades of Blush for every skin tone

Blushes come in a wide array of hues and not all will give you a natural flush of colours.

Fair skin beauties can opt for a subtle pink colour for their blush. Medium shade girls can choose peachy tones to mimic the skin burning but in a cute way look. Dusky skin beauties can go for bolder colours including Berry, Red and more!
