A balcony is a great place to enjoy a bit of fresh air from the comfort of your home. It is a place where you can unwind after a long day with a cup of tea. There are many ways to make this space of the home comfortable. A few plants would make a great addition to this area and add a bit of greenery to it. Here are a few plants that would look beautiful on a balcony.

English Ivy

English Ivy is also called Hedera Helix. It is perfect to grow on balconies and can grow even in low light. It is a versatile houseplant that can be grown in various situations. You can grow them in hanging baskets, at the base of other houseplants or in pots of their own. You are required to water this plant twice a week. As a houseplant, it may help to purify the air around you. You could also opt for the Variegated Ivy, which is another variant of the Ivy species that comes with yellow stripes in between. This can add contrast and colour to your balcony.

Watermelon Pilea

A watermelon pilea is a fast-growing plant that is relatively easy to maintain. It is suitable to grow in tropical conditions. Plus, the leaves are lush and green. Their variegated foliage is unique. It has shiny silver, irregularly shaped markings, which are parallel to the lateral veins. Avoid direct sunlight as it can scorch the foliage.

 Variegated Money Plant

This plant is easy to grow and has attractive green or marble white and green leaf variations.  It also helps to purify and clean the air and get rid of the toxins surrounding the area. Indirect sunlight is sufficient and it does not require much water.

 Spider Lily

Spider Lily, also known as HymenocallisCaribaea, is a perennial plant. It blooms beautifully. It has bright red, and white flowers with long petals. Spider lilies get their name from blooms that have a   spider-like appearance. These flowers can be used to repel insects and rodents. It can also help to make your balcony look vibrant.

Hosta Plant

Hosta Plant is an attractive plant to feature on your balcony as it has large green leaves. It will need extra attention initially and a good amount of light. Later, as it matures it can grow well even if you are not able to tend to it often.
