  1. Dal Baati Churma – How can one compile a list of Rajasthani delicacies and not keep this on the top? The iconic Dal Baati Churma is a dish made in every house of Rajasthan and it’s as good as it sounds. The batis are a sort of bread that is crispy on the outside but soft inside. The dal is full of different lentils and spices while the churma is sort of sweet made with pure ghee and jaggery.
  2. Ghevar – Any fans of sweets here? Ghevar is rich in ghee, sweetness and lots and lots of calories. But it is all worth it! It is essentially a cake doused in sugar syrup, almonds, ghee, etc. If you are in Rajasthan do not miss out on this one, as it is one of their most traditional and famous sweets available.
  3. Gatte ki Sabzi – Another famous household dish. Gatte ki sabzi is made with besan dumplings cooked as a curry. This is rich in spices and can be easily eaten with hot rice or rotis. It has a tangy flavor as curd is one of the main ingredients of this dish.
  4. Pyaaz ki Kachori – How can one talk about Rajasthan and not delve into the snacks they’ve made popular? Pyaaz ki kachori originated in Jodhpur but now eaten all over the state. Many eat it for breakfast as it is easy to make and delicious to have.
  5. Mohan Thaal – Last but never the least is another sweet speciality from the state. Known as Mohan Thaal, the sweet is made with mawa, flour, milk, and desi ghee. It is even offered to gods in many temples and considered to be a special sweet made on occasions.
Apart from these five items, you should even try Rajasthani Kadhi, Balushahi, all types of chutneys and other dishes that Rajasthan is so famous for!
