The scorching heat and excessive humidity during summer can take a real toll on your hair health. Dandruff, itchiness, dullness, hair loss, thinning hair, etc. are some of the major issues that most people suffer from in the hot season.

So, it's needless to say that you need to take some extra care of your hair. Without further ado, let's get a look at three easy-to-prepare hair masks that you can use.

Use banana + honey to reduce itchiness

Banana contains potassium that helps strengthen your hair roots. Also, it's loaded with antibacterial properties that fight off dandruff and help soothe irritations on your scalp. It nourishes the hair follicles, and further makes them significantly thicker. On the other hand, honey acts as a natural conditioner for your hair. It moisturizes the scalp, reduces hair breakage, softens hair, and also boosts the growth of new hair.

The combination of banana and honey is highly effective at reducing scalp itchiness. All you need to do is mix 1/2 cup mashed banana with 3 teaspoons of organic honey. Apply the mixture to your scalp, leave it for 15 minutes, and then wash off with a mild shampoo.

Use avocado + olive oil to manage frizzy hair

Avocado is an excellent source of biotin which is highly beneficial for your overall hair health. It also contains B-complex vitamins that strengthen the hair roots and make your hair grow properly. It also helps nourish the scalp and reduces the risk of fizziness to a significant extent. Olive oil, on the other hand, contains hair-healthy components such as oleic acid, palmitic acid, and squalene. It preserves moisture, and also adds extra softness to your hair strands.

Mix 1/2 cup mashed avocado with three teaspoons of olive oil. Apply the mixture to your scalp, leave it for 30 minutes, and then wash off with a mild shampoo.

Use coconut milk + lavender oil to treat hair breakage

Coconut milk is high in lauric acid which is beneficial in strengthening your hair cuticles. It also contains a good amount of protein which boosts keratin production in your body. It contains vitamins C, E, B-1, B-3, B-5, and B-6 - all of which are beneficial for your hair health. It prevents hair breakage, slowing the rate of hair loss to a good extent. Lavender oil is known to be highly effective at promoting hair growth. It reduces scalp inflammation and makes your hair shine.

For the remedy, mix 2 teaspoons of coconut milk with a few drops of lavender oil. Apply the mixture to your scalp, leave it for 20 minutes, and then wash off with mild shampoo as usual.
