Just like what we can sometimes act as agents of stress relief, certain drinks and tonics can take your stress away too. Any time you feel your anxiety is catching up to you a sip of these drinks would take away the stress and the anxiety. Your nerves will calm down and all will be okay with the world again. Here are a few drinks that will fight and relieve your stress and anxiety.

Chamomile Tea

It might sound fancy. but chamomile tea is a massive stress reliever. This herbal tea originated in Europe and has been widely used by medicine to treat insomnia, anxiety and stress. The chamomile tea has properties that can calm down the nerves while relaxing the muscles. It is especially helpful to drink a cup of chamomile tea before going to the bed as it helps you get a good and deep sleep. The herbal tea is known to release hormones like serotonin and melatonin that helps in the reduction of stress and anxiety. In order to prepare your chamomile tea, simply dip a chamomile teabag into hot water and let it steep for 5 minutes. Drink the tea after it has cooled down.

Warm Milk

Drinking warm milk before going to bed is an age old tradition. It is known to induce a good sleep and calm your nerves down putting you into a good mood. Milk contains the amino acid, tryptophan that produces serotonin when activated. As a result, the serotonin hormone reduces feelings of stress and anxiety. It soothes the nerves and helps in bringing about a peaceful and deep sleep. You can also add a little spoon of turmeric to the warm milk before going to bed. The turmeric has anti-inflammatory properties and would boost your immune system while the milk would bring you a good quality sleep.

Coconut Water

Coconut water is high source of electrolytes, potassium, chlorides, vitamin C, magnesium and other important and healthy minerals. These components in coconut water improve the energy levels, relax the muscles and reduce stress and anxiety. It is also known to help improve your sleep as well as your body’s blood circulation.
