Easy flowers to start from the seed in the garden.

As compared to bulbs, growing flowers from seeds are a lot more difficult. But if you can do so, seeds can provide a yield that is much better and long-lasting. Flower seeds are also cheaper to buy than an entire sprouted plant. Here are a few flowers that you can grow from seeds.

 Marigold

Their flowers bloom vividly right through the summer season and they come in varied tons of gold and brass. All they need is plenty of sunshine and they will bloom in any soil type. Sow them in your garden not more than an inch deeper and see them sprouting within days. The flower usually blooms in a span of eight weeks. Usually, marigolds are annual, but they self-seed easily making them perennial flowers.

 Sunflower

These bright flowers are low maintenance once they are well planted ideally in a large pot or in the ground. This annual flower can be planted in soil that’s 60-to-70-degree Fahrenheit. Simply water them weekly, up to an inch, and witness them reach up to five to 10 feet in height with a full-bloomed flower.

 Calendula

This flower has an elaborate history of being used as a skin-healing herb. One can also use dried calendula petals as a saffron substitute in varied cooking. Though they are annuals, calendulas usually self-seed making them easy to propagate. Make sure to keep the soil faintly moist, and place in at least some shade in case of hot summer.

 Nasturtium

These are probably the easiest to grow beginner-level flowers that can be grown in a pot or in the ground. They are not picky about the soil, need very minimal care or fertilizers, and are available in wide shades such as fragrant orange, red, yellow, and white blooms. Just seed it and see the plant blooming in seven to ten days.

Zinnia

Zinnia is another seed type that sprouts very fast, usually taking four to seven days, and can germinate quite easily in a container. These elegant tall and puffy-looking single, semidouble, or double flowers come in a wide variety of shapes, including popular beehive, button, and cactus.

Four O’clock

They're named by how they bloom in the afternoon from midsummer through fall. They are available in orange, pink, white, yellow, and magenta and some plant types can have multiple flower colours in a single bloom. They are low maintenance and perennials in warmer climates.

So, plant some seeds and enjoy the wonders of mother nature.
