Hagia Sophia                       

The Hagia Sophia is an architectural splendour that one has to visit when in Istanbul. It is rich with an interesting history that is sure to fascinate. It is a popular site millions of tourists visit. There is so much to learn about it.

Sultanahmet Mosque

The Sultanahmet Mosque is also known as the Blue Mosque. This historic mosque was built sometime in the early 17th century while Ahmed I reigned. It is one of the city's most famous landmarks. The walls inside the mosque are covered in hand-painted blue tiles. It is a sight to see. You may even spot the iron chain, which hangs over the main entrance of the courtyard.

Basilica Cistern

Basilica Cistern, which is also called YerebatanSarnıcı, was built by Emperor Justinian I in the 6th century. It was reportedly build to store water and channel it to palaces that were nearby. It features ancient Ionic and Corinthian columns. There is much to learn about it that may just surprise you.

Istanbul Archaeology Museum

The Istanbul Archaeology Museum has three sections: Archaeology, Ancient Orient and Islamic Art. If you want to learn more about all things archaeology and history, this is the place to visit. When you are at the museum, you can get a look at the very large collection of Ancient Greek, Roman and Turkish artefacts. You can also see objects that were discovered in the Middle East, Balkans, Africa, and Mesopotamia. Make sure you have enough time to explore all that is on offer.

Gülhane Park

If you are looking for a place to relax and enjoy the outdoor, visit the Gülhane Park. It is a gorgeous park. It is also Istanbul's biggest parks. It is located near the Topkapı Palace. There is plenty to enjoy here with family and friends. In the springtime, you can take in the beauty of the tulips as that is when they bloom.

Spice Bazaar

No trip to Istanbul would be complete without a trip to the Spice Bazaar. It was reportedly built in the 16th century. You will find stalls that sell a variety of things to perk up your taste buds, like spices, sweets, dried fruits, tea varieties, and so much more.
