Sultanahmet Mosque

The Sultanahmet Mosque is also known as the Blue Mosque. This historic mosque was built sometime in the early 17th century while Ahmed I reigned. It is one of the city’s most famous landmarks. The walls inside the mosque are covered in hand-painted blue tiles. It is a sight to see. You may even spot the iron chain, which hangs over the main entrance of the courtyard.

Basilica Cistern

Basilica Cistern, which is also called YerebatanSarnıcı, was built by Emperor Justinian I in the 6th century. It was reportedly build to store water and channel it to palaces that were nearby.
