Fastest ODI tons for each team

The record for the fastest ODI century in ODI cricket belongs to South Africa's AB de Villiers who took just 31 balls to reach the milestone. SA - ABD (31 balls) AB de Villiers smashed a century off just 31 balls against West Indies at Johannesburg in 2015. He struck 16 sixes and 9 boundaries and was finally dismissed on 149.

He credited the openers for setting the platform for him.

"Lots of credit to Rilee and Hash up front, it allowed me to free up. It was always going to be a lot of aggressive batting around Hash. He's a world class batsman, he's making it look easy and taking the pressure off us. I had a lot of time to warm up in the changing room, thinking about how I was playing. I actually wanted David Miller to go in but Russell made a great call, he told me to go in. I played my knock even before I came out to bat, I really wanted to go today. I was on 92 when I knew the record was close and I wasn't going to take singles," ABD said.

De Villiers had arrived at the wicket after a 247 run opening stand between Hashim Amla and Rilee Rossouw.

NZ - C Anderson (36) New Zealand's Corey Anderson remained unbeaten on 131 against the West Indies at Queenstown in 2014. He took just 36 balls to bring up a century with the help of 14 sixes and 6 boundaries.

Pak - Afridi (37) Pakistan's Shahid Afridi held the record for the fastest century in ODI cricket for a long time after he brought up the milestone off just 37 deliveries against Sri Lanka at Nairobi in 1996. His 102 included 11 sixes and 6 boundaries.

WI - Lara (44) It is only fitting that Brian Lara holds the record for the fastest ODI century for West Indies which came 45 deliveries. Lara smashed 4 sixes and 18 boundaries against Bangladesh at Dhaka in 1999.

Eng - Buttler (46), SL - Jayasuriya (48), Ire - K O’Brien (50), Aus - Maxwell (51) and Ind - Kohli (52) are the batsmen to strike the fastest century for their respective countries in ODI cricket.

Ban - Shakib (63), Afg - Karim Sadiq (72) and Zim - B Taylor (79) also appear on the list.
