Fields where nanotechnology is useful

After intensive research for years by eminent scientists, nanotechnology has evolved and is currently benefiting society a lot.

The helping hand of nanotechnology has extended so far that currently it is being used in almost all sectors. It has revolutionized several fields such as medicine, information technology, transportation, food, security and environment. So, let’s delve deep into the fields and see that nanotechnology has disrupted almost every sector.

Nanotechnology used in materials and processes that we use everyday

Nanotechnology has been beneficial in uplifting the quality of various materials and processes that we use on a daily basis. The material in which nanotechnology is incorporated becomes effectively more durable, lighter and stronger. In short, the material improves the quality of the things it is applied to. In our everyday use materials, like the eyeglasses, computer screens and windows, nanotechnology enhances their anti-reflective ability and as a result the UV rays are effectively barred from causing harm to our eyes. Similarly, with nanotechnology airplanes, boats, cars, spaceships, etc. can be made lighter which eventually helps in saving fuels.

Nanotechnology in information technology applications and electronics

Advances in nanotechnology have facilitated greatly in advancing the IT and electronics field by a lot. It has facilitated the creation of smaller, faster and portable devices and systems that help in processing huge amounts of data and information. Transistors used in modern computing have become smaller over the years as nanotechnology advances. Furthermore, it is speculated that there will be a time the entire memory of the computing devices can be stored in a chip, thereby making modern and future computers much faster and smaller. Apart from this, nanotechnology has facilitated the creation of bendable, roll able, flexible and stretchable devices.

Nanotechnology in medicine and healthcare field

Nanotechnology has also impacted the medicine and healthcare sector with its wide application in medical tools and therapies. The advances in nanomedicine have been able to help in the formulation of solutions for preventing diseases, its early detection and providing effective treatment. The creation of gold nanoparticles has been able to help in detecting nucleic acids, and furthermore it has also shown its potential in treating cancers and other dangerous diseases. Apart from these, nanotechnology has been able to prove its worth in uplifting diagnostics and imaging tools which enabled individualized treatments and best therapies.

Thus, it can be seen that nanotechnology has impacted the three main sectors associated with our daily life.
