Learn how you can test on your own whether you have warm or cool toned skin with some easy steps!

When it’s about beauty and fashion, there are some buzzwords to refer to colours as “warm colours” and “cool colours”. We get confused while identifying the category which we fall into because it is important for our overall attractiveness. The first step to understand this concept is that the surface tone or colour of our skin is the one you would describe your complexion (light, ivory, tan, medium, dark etc.). Your skin’s undertone is that colour underneath the surface. So you can have similar skin colour like someone else but the undertone might be different. First, we should know these warm and cool tones: Cool (red, pink or bluish undertones) and warm (peachy, yellow or golden undertones). Here’s how you can check your tone:

1.   Check your veins: Look at your veins inside your wrist. If they look greenish you have warm undertones and if they look blurry then you have cool undertones, so basically warm undertones don’t mean your veins are green  it’s just you’re seeing them through your yellow-toned skin that is why it looks green (blue + yellow = green). Also if you look bright white in shades then you are cool-toned and if you look better in ivory or tan and brown shade then you are warm-toned.
2.   Hair and eye colour: Hair and eye colour also help to figure out your tones. Mostly cool undertone people have green, grey or blue eyes and brown, blond and black hair with violet, blue, silver or ash undertones. On the other hand, warm undertone people usually have amber, hazel, or brown eyes and red, strawberry blond, brown or black hair with gold, yellow or red undertones.
3.   The sun’s effect: You have to notice when you go out in sunlight, does the skin of yours turn pink first with a burn or golden brown? If you are a cool undertone a person with fair skin you will simply burn whereas if you belong in the former category then you are warm-toned.
4. Old jewellery trick: While buying or wearing any jewellery think about which you’ll look better in instead of which you like most between silver and gold. Think about which one actually can make you more radiant and glowing. For Women with cool undertones silver, platinum and metal look better on them and gold looks better on warm undertone women.
