Five Habits That are Making You Appear Older Than Your Age

Sooner or later, we will all start looking old. Since “distressed” only looks best when talking about jeans, it will certainly not seem very flattering on your body and skin.

The march of time is unstoppable, but did you know that certain bad habits can make the aging symptoms progress more rapidly, and if you do not curb them now, they will make you appear twice as old as you are? Do yourself a favor and get rid of the following bad habits that are most likely responsible for making you appear older than your age.

Not getting enough sleep at night.

Inadequate sleep can speed up the process of aging. In fact, even if you pull off an all-nighter at work, it can offer you a preview of how your skin might suffer if you make it a regular habit. In simple words, without proper 8 hours of sleep, you can kiss your tight, elastic, pimple-free and youthful skin goodbye.

Staying inactive

Working out does not simply keep your muscles tight - it also helps your skin stay tight and healthy. Various research has revealed that regular exercise can keep skin healthier in the long run by enhancing blood flow, which in turn, boosts levels of oxygen and filters out harmful waste products. So stay active and remember to renew your gym membership.

Not moisturizing skin

Every person’s skin has some basic requirements that must be fulfilled. Some people have very dry skin, while others have extremely oily skin. Whichever type your skin may be, if you do not moisturize regularly using skin type-specific products, you are causing damage to your skin. All the necessary tools are out there, and not making proper use of them is bad judgement.

Skipping sun protection

Most people consider using sun protection only when they are heading to the beach. But direct exposure to the sun causes the most damage to the skin. To offer protection against the sun’s bombarding heat, the skin produces splotchy pigment which often results in liver spots, freckles, and uneven skin tone. In addition, exposure to UV radiation also maximizes the chances of premature aging of the skin.

Avoid using ordinary drugstore soap.

We understand soaps can be expensive, and using premium bars only can cost you a pretty penny. But that soap bar you get from the local drugstore is going to do you more harm than good by stripping your skin of essential natural oils. If you do not want to spend a lot on a bodywash, at least get yourself something half-decent.

Bid farewell to these bad habits to slow down any signs of wear and tear on your skin.
