Jaisalmer (Rajasthan)  

Jaisalmer is located in the middle of the Thar Desert and it’s one of the most visited tourist destinations in India mostly because of the golden façade of the desert.

Jaisalmer in Rajasthan is famous for its rich culture and history. Along with going for a jeep safari in the golden Thar Desert, there are many places to visit here. Also known as the golden city, most monuments of this place like palaces to temples to houses are made of yellow sandstone giving it a golden look. You can ride on a camel in the deserts and explore medieval forts here. Jaisalmer also boasts of beautiful lakes, majestic Jain temples and castles.

Rann of Kutch (Gujarat)

Also known as the white desert of India, massive landscapes of white salt desert in the Rann of Kutch area are an amazing place to visit.

Regarded as India’s biggest salt plain, the Great Rann of Kutch forms a part of Kutch district in Gujarat. It is popularly known as Rann of Kutch and is a famous desert to visit. The Rann of Kutch is in fact includes two deserts. The larger one is the Great Rann of Kutch that is spread over 7500sq km and its adjacent, relatively smaller salt desert is called the Little Rann of Kutch. The best time to visit here is during October to March when the summers bottles down and the festive season starts making it a vibrant place to visit.

Spiti (Himachal Pradesh)

Spiti Valley is a cold desert mountain valley located high in the Himalayas in the north-eastern part of the northern Indian state of Himachal Pradesh.

Spiti valley is a cold desert mountain valley where you can get after passing through Rohtang and Kunzum. The height of the valley varies from 3800m to 4450m. The landscapes of valley are totally different from other places and of course quite beautiful. Here you can visit many places to visit like "The famous KeeMonestry", "DhankharMonestry", Kibber Village "Pin valley National Park”, Highest Village Hikkim" etc.

Ladakh

In the far northern region of India lies the land of high mountain passes, Ladakh. “La” means passes and “Dakh” means many in the local language. 

Ladakh has one of the most scenic deserts of India, basically a cold desert, its magnificent view is something one shall experience at least once. With its dry mountains, glacial lakes and winding trails, Ladakh is blessed with some breathtaking landscapes. Summer season straddling May to August is the best time to visit Ladakh when the weather is warm and sunny. During the winters, Ladakh gets covered in a thick blanket of snow and the mercury drops below zero degrees.

Jodhpour (Rajasthan)

 Also known as the ‘Blue City’, Jodhpur seems covered in a blue sheet. Jodhpur derived its name from its founder Rao Jodha, a former ruler of the present-day Rajasthan State.

Jodhpur is one of the most popular deserts in India and the best time to visit here is from October to March when the weather becomes pleasurable after the scorching summer heat. Here you can go for a desert safari experience, at Osian which lies nearly 65 km away from Jodhpur. Ruins of ancient temples are other attractions of Osian town. Overseeing the old city, Mehrangarh Fort is an iconic landmark of Jodhpur town. The modern Jodhpur city lies well beyond the fort walls. Nevertheless, the panoramic blue-blanketed landscape of the old city is always a big attraction for tourists.
