Five Movies of Quentin Tarantino to Binge Watch

Quentin Tarantino is famous for making hyper-stylized movies with long dramatic takes, blood-splitting action sequences, retro-style pop music, gritty tone, non-linear storytelling, and eccentric characters. Here is a list of his top five movies.

Pulp Fiction (1994)

Pulp Fiction without an iota of doubt is the best movie by Tarantino that made him a force to reckon with.

Pulp Fiction is a neo-noir crime drama that featured an ensemble cast of John Travolta, Bruce Willis, Samuel L Jackson, Uma Thurman, Tim Roth, Christopher Walken, and Tarantino himself in a guest appearance. The movie followed a non-linear storyline with interconnected stories about two assassins, a boxer, a gangster, and his wife. It won the prestigious Palme d’Or Award at the Cannes Film Festival.

Reservoir Dogs (1992)

Reservoir Dogs is Quentin Tarantino’s first finished feature film and it was the movie that introduced us to the now-famous Tarantino style of filmmaking.

Reservoir Dogs followed the story of six criminals who plan to rob a bank and they manage to carry it out successfully but not without the intervention of the police and they start doubting that there is a traitor among them. The movie gave us a peek inside the world of criminals and gangsters which is full of violence, trust issues, and eccentric characters.

Inglorious Basterds (2009)

Set during World War II, Inglorious Basterds is Tarantino’s take on an alternate history about a team of mercenaries on the mission to kill Hitler.

Inglorious Basterds is a classic Tarantino revisionist history thrill ride that is violent, stylish, uninhibited, and quite entertaining. It featured Brad Pitt, Mélanie Laurent, Christopher Waltz, and Eli Roth. Christopher Waltz won the Academy Award for the Best Supporting Actor with his brilliant portrayal of a menacing Jew Hunting Nazi.

Kill Bill 1 & 2 (2003-2004)

The Kill Bill series was a revenge drama inspired by Hong Kong martial arts gangster movies and it featured Uma Thurman in the iconic character of ‘The Bride’.

Kill Bill series was released in two parts in a span of one year and it featured Uma Thurman in her career-defining role as a wounded woman looking for revenge. It is full of beautiful art design, perfectly choreographed action sequences, and above all, a melancholic tale of a mother’s love. The movie along with being critically acclaimed was a huge hit at the box office also.

Once Upon a Time in Hollywood (2019)

Once Upon a Time in Hollywood is Tarantino’s tribute to Hollywood, he has grown up watching and hearing stories about and possibly his most personal movie.

Once Upon a Time in Hollywood starring Leonardo Di Caprio and Brad Pitt got mixed reactions from critics and the audience upon its release. Set during the Hollywood of 60s, it was very different from what Tarantino made before. Both the actors gave terrific performances and Brad Pitt received the Oscars for Best Supporting Actor for his portrayal as the stunt double of Rick Dalton (Leonardo Di Caprio), a fading TV star.
