It was not that long ago when people used to think that acting is equal to good looks and six pack abs. But with the advent of OTT and public waking up to a whole breed of talented actors who does not fit into the conventional image of a “hero’’ but creating a niche for themselves on the basis of their talent. We have created a list of five unconventional actors from Bollywood we absolutely love.

VinayPathak

Most of us are familiar with VinayPathak who is entertaining us from his amazing performances for more than two decades.

VinayPathak is a brilliant actor who worked in a vast range of work in movies,TV  and Theatre. He started his career as a Channel V VJ, and after that he switched to acting and went on to give memorable performances in films like KhoslaKaGhosla, Jhonny Gaddar, Rab Ne Bana di Jodi etc. Though he was working in movies for quite a sometime, it was Bheja Fry, a dark comedy that proved to be a millstone in his career. He received an IIFA nomination for this movie and he won Producers Guild Film Award for Best Actor in a Comic role.

 AtulKulkarni

AtulKulkarni, without any doubt is one of the finest actors in Bollywood and an alumni of NSD (National School of Drama), who has worked in numerous films in various languages.

AtulKulkarni made his debut in Bollywood with Kamal Hassan’s Hey Ram!that fetched himhis first National Award. His next notable movie was Chandni Bar with Tabu and he again won a National Award for his performance in the movie. His most well-known movie is Rang De Basanti, where he played the role of a Hindu right-wing activist LaxmanPandey who goes through change of the heart through the course of the movie. He turned scriptwriter with Aamir Khan starrer ‘Laal Singh Chadda’, an official remake of Tom Hank’s Forrest Gump, scheduled to release later this year.

AshutoshRana started his career from television with Mahesh Bhatt’s Swabhiman and he got his big break with movies like Dushman and Sangharsh where he played negative characters.

­AshotushRana got instant recognition with his portrayal of GokulPandit in Dushman and the iconic Lajja Shankar Pandey in Sangharsh. In both this movies he played psychopath serial killers and if there will be a list of most iconic villains ever, these two characters will be right there at the top. But after these two movies, he struggled to get meaty roles but he got appreciated for his performances in the movies like Raaz, Haasil, Kalyug,Humpty Sharma kiDulhaniya, Dhadak , War and Sonchiriya.
