Five Underrated OTT Series to binge watch

OTT platforms have changed the way people watch sitcoms and movies, especially during the lockdown, but there are some great shows you might have missed! Here's a look at some underrated shows that should be on your binge-watch list.

Tabbar (SonyLIV)

Tabbar on SonyLIV is an interesting watch that follows the story of  a middle-class family which gets entangled in a web of crime and lies while trying to cover up an accidental murder. 

Tabbar stars two phenomenal actors like Pawan Malhotra and Supriya Pathak and set in the narrow lanes of Jalandhar, it tells the story of Omkar Singh, a retired policeman living a normal middle class life with his wife She (Netflix)and sons Happy and Tegi. They get into a big problem after an accidental homicide and shows how far one can go to save his family.

It follows the story of a female constable who goes undercover to bust an underworld gang. She premiered on Netflix on 20 March 2020.

She is created by the famous and celebrated director Imtiaz Ali who made movies like Jab we Met and Rockstar. Aditi Pohankar headlines the series which tells the story of a diffident, female cop whose gets a chance to prove herself as she gets an undercover mission to expose a drug ring. The writing falters in places, but it have some nice performances and a gripping script which makes it an interesting watch.

Bang BaajaBaaraat (Amazon Prime)

Yash Raj Films’ Bang BaajaBaaraat' seems to trace what happens when two diametrically opposite families meet and the hilarious incidents that follow afterwards.

Yash Raj Films made this web series named Bang BaajaBaaraatwhich is very entertaining and hilarious. It follows the story of two people who are in love and want to get married. The problem is that they are from very diverse backgrounds.  And t they want the consent of their parents for the marriage. You can watch this scrupulously entertaining and hilarious web series on the on YouTube and Amazon Prime.

Grahan (Disney+Hotstar)

Grahan is a crime drama inspired by Satya Vyas' popular novel Chaurasi based on the Anti-Sikh riots of the 1980s. 

Grahan follows the story during thethe 1984 riots, and it stars Pavan Malhotra, Zoya Hussain, WamiqaGabbi, and AnshumanPushkar in main roles. An emotional and intense drama, the show may talk of events that took place in the past, but it is relevant even in present times.

Queen (MX Player)

Queen is inspired by the life of the late actress and politician Jayalalitha. Even though the series was mainly in Tamil, it was released in many languages including Hindi.

Queen tells the story of the journey of ShakthiSheshadri- a young, bright student who an actress due to some unavoidable circumstances, and after getting great stardom, tries to enter politics. An amazingscript and terrific performances are enough reasons to binge watch this show. All 3 actresses (Ramya Krishnan, AnjanaJayaprakash&AnikhaSurendran) playing Shakthi, at different periods of her life, do in fact bring to life the story of one of the most important figures of India
