Friends: Life lessons to learn from Ross Geller

If we had to choose, then we believe we have learnt the most from Ross Geller.

Do you love the show Friends? If you answered yes, then you know that this show has been there for you through all the good and bad times. We have watched and re-watched and still watching the show at least once or twice a year (more for some people).

We have learnt so much from the show overall, but if we had to pick one then unarguably Ross Geller taught us the most.

So, here we give you a list of life lessons we learnt from Ross.

  • Mississippi counting doesn’t work always.
While counting mississippily works for hide-and-seek games, but it does not work for spray tans.
  • Be kind to people.
Even though he is sometimes arrogant, Ross was always there for his friends. He gave Pheobe a bike when he heard she never had one. He also helped Rachel get ready and took her to the hospital, even though he missed his TV appearance.
  • Smart is the new cool.
Ross is a college professor, holds a PhD, corrects everyone’s grammar, science enthusiast – basically a nerd. Despite being very different, he embraces his inner nerd, makes strong friendships and finds romantic partners. He shows that being smart is cool.
  • Winter season is not always about Christmas.
Ross shows that there are so many other different holidays celebrated during the winter season like Hanukkah. We also know that the Holiday Armadillo is vital to the festival of Hanukkah.
  • Don’t wear leather pants to a date.
Professor Geller is proof that leather pants are a bad idea for a date. Because you may have to end up making paste pants with powder and lotion.
  • One word – unagi
Thanks to Ross, we know now that the only way to be prepared for any future dangers is by having unagi. And no, it is not only a type of sushi (at least according to Ross).
  • Difference between you’re and your.
Ross clearly explains to Rachel (and maybe to us also) the difference between “you’re” and “your”.
  • Don’t let someone at work eat your sandwich.
You should always stand up to other people. Never take nonsense from anyone, especially when they steal the “the only good thing” in your life.

We feel like re-watching friends from the first episode. Do you too?
