Continuing from the first part, here are a few more Asian actors who made it big in Hollywood.

Dev Patel

Dev Patel made his debut with Danny Boyle’s Slumdog Millionaire which won eight Academy Awards and Dev Patel played the lead role in the movie which got him instant acclaim across the globe.

Dev Patel is a British-Indian actor who debuted with Danny Boyle’s Oscar-winning movie, Slumdog Millionaire. After the success of Slumdog Millionaire, Dev Patel started getting lots of acting offers and he acted in quite a few movies along with TV shows. Some of his most popular movies are The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel, The Man Who Knew Infinity where he played the character of SrinivasaRamanujam, a great mathematician from India, Lion, Hotel Mumbai, etc. He has been part of TV shows like Skins, The Newsroom, Modern Love and India From Above where he was the narrator.

Freida Pinto

Freida Pinto made her debut opposite Dev Patel in Danny Boyle’s Slumdog Millionaire. Unlike Dev Patel who is a British citizen, Freida Pinto is an Indian citizen born and brought up in Mumbai.

Frieda Pinto played the role of Latika, the love interest of the main character Jamaal, played by Dev Patel. She auditioned for the role and finally got the role where six other aspirant actresses also auditioned. Slumdog Millionaire became a huge success and won as many as eight Academy Awards that year. It made Frieda Pinto quite famous and she even won the Breathtaking Performance Award for Slumdog Millionaire at

Palm Springs International Film Festival. After her breakthrough in Slumdog Millionaire, she acted in Michael Winterbottom’s Trishna where she played the titular character. Subsequently, she acted in many more movies and TV shows and continuing doing so.

Late Irrfan Khan

Irrfan Khan was one of the best actors in Indian cinema and one of the few Bollywood actors who made his foray into Hollywood successfully.

Irrfan Khan has been one of the actors from India who made a name for himself in Bollywood and got applauded by Hollywood legends like y Tom Hanks and Ron Howard. He debuted in Hollywood with Mira Nair’s The Namesake based on a book of the same name. He acted alongside Tabu in the movie. His performance in the movie was highly applauded and filmmakers in Hollywood noticed his talent. He is one of the very few Indian actors who acted in big-budget mainstream Hollywood movies like Life of Pie, The Amazing Spider-Man 2, Angel and Demons where his co-star was Tom Hanks, and Jurassic World with Chris Prat.
