Early Life and Education

Manushi Chhillar was born to a medical family on May 14, 1997, in Rohtak, Haryana. Her mother is an associate professor and department head of neurochemistry at the Institute of Human Behaviour and Allied Sciences, and her father works as a scientist for the Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO).

Chhillar attended St. Thomas School in New Delhi and has always had a passion for learning. She later continued her education by enrolling in the Bhagat Phool Singh Government Medical College for Women in Sonepat, Haryana, to pursue a degree in medicine.

Beauty Pageant Journey

Manushi Chhillar’s involvement in the Femina Miss India pageant in 2016 marked the beginning of her journey into the world of beauty competitions. As a representative of her home state of Haryana, she triumphed in the contest, giving her the chance to represent India at the Miss World 2017 pageant held in China.

Chhillar won the Miss World 2017 contest after competing against women from 118 different nations. The last Indian to win the title was Priyanka Chopra in 2000, ending India’s 17-year absence from the Miss World competition.

Philanthropic Activities

Besides her intelligence and beauty, Manushi Chhillar is well known for her charitable endeavors. She has ties to several causes, including girl education, menstrual hygiene, and animal welfare.

She has taken a lead role in promoting the ‘Beauty with a Purpose’ campaign, a charity that raises money for underprivileged children all over the world.

Chhillar has also collaborated with the Indian government to promote awareness of the value of childhood immunization. In order to reduce anemia in women and children in the state, Anaemia-Free Haryana appointed her as their brand ambassador in 2018.

Career in Modelling and Acting

Even before she was crowned Miss World, Manushi Chhillar was a successful model. She has appeared in many advertising campaigns and walked the runway for several well-known designers.

With the release of the Akshay Kumar-starred "Prithviraj" in 2019, Chhillar made her Bollywood debut. The historical dramatization of the life of Rajput king Prithviraj Chauhan serves as its basis. In November 2021, the movie was released.
