From Rajpal Yadav to Nawazuddin Siddique, Bollywood Actors Who Made it Big Even with Their Unconventional Looks. (Part II)

Continuing from the first part of the story, here are a few more actors who made it big with their unconventional looks.

ManojBajpai

ManojBajpai is one of the busiest and most sought-after actors today who made a successful career with his unconventional looks.

ManojBajpai made his acting debut in a small role in Shekhar Kapoor's Bandit Queen as dacoit Maan Singh. He did some TV shows and small roles in movies like Drohkal but it was Ramgopal Varma’s Satya that brought him into the limelight. Though the title of the movie was Satya, the name of the main protagonist, it was ManojBajpai as BhikuMhatre that shined the most in the movie. After that, he acted in many successful movies, and his first web series ‘The Family Man’ on Amazon Prime is a huge success.

Nana Patekar

Nana Patekar despite having a very normal look was one of the most sought-after and successful stars during the 90s.

Undoubtedly Nana Patekar is one of the best actors of India ever who made it big without having the looks of a conventional Bollywood hero. Nor was he fair or tall or had six-pack abs but it’s his acting prowess that made him a successful actor. His style of dialogue delivery became iconic and his performances in movies like Parinda, Krantiveer, Agneesakshi, Tiranga, Ghulam-E-Mustafa, Khamoshi, etc made him one of the most popular actors in the 90s and after that also he kept on giving successful movies like Apharan, Ab TakChappan and Rajneeti. His comic act in Welcome as Uday Shetty made people aware of his comic timing.

Pankaj Tripathi

Pankaj Tripathi is quite a famous name today because of movies like Gangs of Wasseypur, Fukrey, Masaan, and the OTT show Mirzapur on Amazon Prime.

Pankaj Tripathi created a name for himself in the Hindi film industry with his acting abilities. His journey was not an easy one and because of his unconventional looks, he has never considered an important character in commercial masala movies but with his sheer dedication and hard work, he kept getting small roles here and there and it was Anurag Kashyap’s Gangs of Wasseypur that got Pankaj Tripathi the recognition he deserved.

Arshad Warsi

Arshad Warsi doesn’t have the height or physique of a quintessential Hindi film hero, but he proved his mettle with his acting prowess.

Arshad Warsi made his debut with ABCL’s Tere Mere Sapne and the movie was an average grosser at the box office but Arshad Warsi got notice because of his comic timing and dancing skills. He kept on doing movies but most of them did not perform well at the box office and it was RajkumarHirani’sMunnabhai MBSS with Sanjay Dutt that gave a new lease of life to Arshad Warsi’s acting career and since then, there has been no looking back for this amazing actor.
