Twenty years ago no one would have imagined that such a technology will come where we can see and talk with someone sitting thousands of miles away. And from twenty years from now, there will be inventions we can’t even imagine today. This is the era of science where technology is changing the way we live. Here are a few futuristic innovations that could change the world for the better:
Artificial Intelligence (AI)
Artificial Intelligence known termed as AI in short form has already revolutionized the world we live in with technologies like Siri, Alexa, and various applications that use AI. In the coming future, there is no doubt that AI will change our lives.
Artificial Intelligence better known as AI refers to the ability of machines to learn and do things intelligently and smartly. In the coming years, there may be AI with emotions that can react on its own. It’s going to revolutionize almost every facet of our lives. They may be able to make decisions, carry out tasks, and even predict the future. It will solve the problem of human resources as in near future there is going to be a big dearth of laborers, especially in the west. If some AI comes who can carry out tasks that a plumber, car driver or electrician does, life will be much more comfortable. But every technology has its pros and cons and many countries are trying to create an army consisting of robots which can be disastrous for world peace. So, it’s very important to create a balance when it comes to AI.
Self-Driving Cars
Self-driving cars are not a totally new concept but future advancements will enable fully autonomous cars where they will be able to do everything a human driver does.
In the last couple of years, electric cars vehicles were introduced that do not need fuel to run. The next step in the field of vehicles will be fully autonomous self-driving cars. Tesla is already working on a car that has an “Autopilot” mode and can use few driving controls by itself but it’s not totally self-driven and a human driver is needed to drive it. But in near future, there will be vehicles that will be entirely hands-free. You just need to put the destination in the vehicle's system and it will take care of everything, right from following the traffic rules, maintaining distance from other vehicles, stopping at the red signal, avoiding accidents, and going to fuel pumps to get refilled, etc. Who knows we may have flying cars also as we see in the movies.
Heart-Monitoring Clothes
In the last decade or so, more and more people are getting affected by heart-related problems and many succumb to it because it’s not monitored in advance. Scientists are working on clothes that can monitor your heart and signals danger in the case of a sudden heart-related problem.
We already have smartwatches that monitor our hearts and the next step towards it will be heart-monitoring clothes. Scientists are developing clothes like t-shirts that will determine the mood of a person by monitoring his heartbeat. It will emit different scents for different moods. Another one is in development where the clothes will measure heartbeats and will detect arrhythmias (irregular heartbeat) and other heart-related problems. Such clothes will be quite helpful for people with cardiovascular conditions and will aid to spot heart attacks before they occur so that you can get necessary medical help.
Smart Homes
After smart watches and devices like Alexa, the next thing scientists and innovators are working on is towards creating smart homes.
In near future, there will be smart homes that will make your life much easier and more comfortable. Home won’t be just a place where you stay; it will be much more than that. For instance, innovators are working on a technology that will detect your daily routine, make you wake up when it’s the time for you to get out of your bed, warm water to take bath at a particular time every day, adjust the room temperature and do kinds of stuff like automatically activating the coffee maker and remind you to have breakfast. It will sense danger like fire and stop it. If any unknown person tries to enter your house it will alert you even if you are not in your home so that you can seek help from neighbors or police. It will make our lives much easier and safer.
3D Printers
3D printers are used to make small and medium-sized objects like decorative things for your house, toys, etc but in near future, they will revolutionize the way we make things right from constructing your dream home to small things like a coffee mug.
3D printers use materials like metals and plastic to build objects layer by layer but it’s very limited as of now when it comes to making things but in the future, it’s going to be one of the main techniques to create almost everything. It’s assumed that in the future 3D printers will be used to make houses, design cars the way you want, medical instruments and artificial devices, rockets and rocket engines, footwear, utensils, and dental products such as dental implants, bridges, and dentures. Researchers are even working on 3D printers that will be able to print foods.
